Technic Laucher.exe not lauching

Hi my mate just got me into this they have a server set up using tekkit I have downloaded java 64bit and the technic laucher but when i open the .exe it just says technic laucher in a grey box and nothing loads have left it running for a while and still nothing anything i can do to sort it out? I am running win 7 64 bit with i7 @ 3.20ghz and 6gb ram so would have thought it would be able to run fine. Help Please!!

Use the .jar instead.

I have updated my java, tried the .jar and the .exe and still nothing works for me, it just says "checking launcher version" and then closes and nothing happens... please help!!

if you are using avg, kill it, preferably with fire. Avg + Technic = not always friends.

The Technic team advises not to use this, since it may block your launcher

It's not specific to AVG, but AVG is the most common problem. Some reports of Norton also doing this.

Aye just disable your anti virus and boot the launcher, once its downloaded everything you should be able to reactivate your anti virus without too many problems.
