Tekkit Legends won't launch

Hello! 

I'm trying to play tekkit and no matter what I do, it won't seem to open. I click on play, then it will open a black window as if it's trying to launch the game, then just close back down and open the launcher. I've re-installed it many of times and it makes no difference, it has 1gb memory allocated which is the max it will allow me to set.
