Download failed

Doesn't work with both Tekkit and Technic, I've tried all the common fixes such as deleting the .technicpack folder and re installing it

I'm getting download failed every time i try to install the launcher, i actually had it installed and it crashed and wouldn't update, i deleted it and now can't install.

Windows 7 32bit

tried with both java 6 and 7 32bit ( I always made sure it was using the Java version i wanted to test)

AVG is installed but it is disabled and i'm using protector plus

no error messages other than 'Download failed'

Redownload the launcher. If that doesn't work it's your AVG, but it's probably a problem people were getting because of the MC update. We fixed it earlier but you need to redownload.

I deleted the already disabled AVG and looks like that fixed it, didn't realise it would be affecting it.

No. Besides, you should ditch AVG anyways, it's crap. Get Avast or Microsoft Security Essentials. Both Free, Both functional. Neither fucks with shit for no reason.
