xtrasyn Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Hi, I have this funny thing where I find turtles in my world tucked away as if they were a lump of resource. It seems they have replaced some type of ore... I upgraded my server 5.8.1 with the 5.9 files, and the turtles have item code 209 now. Does anyone know if 209 used to be ferrous ore? Or some other type? Does anyone know what I should do to revert it back? I don't want those stupid turtles anyway.
FanaticNinja Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 I have seen this same issue, still running 0.5.7. Turtles where never allowed on my server (craft banned, until we fix grief issues), so I have no idea where they came from.
xtrasyn Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 If its not just me I think I should move it to bug status then... I'll file one later. Thanks!
theprolo Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 This has been caused by using MCEdit on a map before, I think. Did you do anything like that to your world?
xtrasyn Posted March 6, 2013 Author Posted March 6, 2013 Nope... Edit, or maybe yes... But I did not touch the zone here, just something near the spawn.
FanaticNinja Posted March 6, 2013 Posted March 6, 2013 Used worldedit in a few areas in spawn (not located near where i found pockets of turtles). Always mindful of every command issued, never turning in blocks to turtles.
WhyHiThere Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 I also found that when Towny is set to "restore wilderness" after a Towny area is unclaimed, it can turn resources into turtles. (This happened to me anyway).
Teraku Posted March 9, 2013 Posted March 9, 2013 You used MCEdit, and thus MCEdit fucked with block ID's above 256, even if you didn't do anything. This causes certain mod ores to change to turtles. Solution: Don't use MCEdit until it can properly handle 4096 ID's.
