So yeah, i started a tekkit server a few days ago, and i have a neat idea to get easy power. Nether is full of lava, so get it out into overworld and use geothermal generators.

First issue was teleport pipes don't teleport crossworld. So i tried an enderchest along with chunkloading blocks.

Now, it seems enderchests will not work in a world without a player, even if the area is kept loaded. Is there any way to 'fix' this? Or should i look for some other way to get lava out of the nether :P

Yes but then the crystals will still remain in the nether until a player goes into the nether... Right now the lava is transported using buckets, a tank for buffer and a deployer to fill/empty the buckets. This setup works within one world but not cross-world without player contact

Nope. You could try a dummy user...

I've heard of servers (non-Tekkit, but it should still apply) using dummy users successfully as a multiplayer variant of chunkloader blocks, so it's worth trying.

How exactly do i go about that? :P

I don't have much experience with bukkit nor modding, up to a month or so back i always played vanilla minecraft. Would this be an additional mod on the server, or could it be done with a plugin?

You can start Tekkit, go offline mode and join to your server. Then use that player in the nether. The player is just called 'Player' but is still a normal player.
