Firends Cannot Connect to Tekkit Server (Hamachi)

Question

Posted

Basically as the title states. I can connect to my server fine. I use Hamachi to Port Forward. No errors are presented in the log. In the server file, the server-ip is left blank (so don't give me 20 posts about how blank it needs to be). When my friends get to the server selection screen, my server is always presented red and unable to connect. I am playing with 4 other friends, so I'm pretty sure that at least one of them was entering the IP correctly.

Can anyone help?

youre using the hamachi network IP i assume. Also, I am not sure you can only use hamachi to port forward, it is still going through your router no? Try port forwarding through your router as well.

hamaci should do all "portforwarding" (its not really port forwarding hamchi just uses ports that are already open from what i understand like port 80) it creates tunnles and a Vitual Private Network where it makes all the computers think there on the same network. try actually entering the ip address that hamchi has given you into the server ip address. the reason that its most likely not working is the server has taken your external ip address and is trying to talk down that line instead of the hamaci line. why not ditch hamaci and set up port forwarding? its so easy in fact if you let me know what type of router you have (i need make and model) i can most likely give you steps on how to do this or check out Portforward.com

Please try to provide information listed in the bug report format, even though this is more of a Hamachi issue. You can just click modify on your original post and edit in the information.

Thanks!

It wasn't happening with one friend, but with all of them. The problem seemed to have fixed itself after about a day or so and it has been fine ever since. Don't know what the problem was, but thank you all for your input! Sorry this topic can't go on to help anyone else if they are facing similar problems.

Hamachi is gay in general pay for a real server. People like me can destroy your win32 with hamachi.

Hamachi is free for up to 5-6 people, which is perfect for my little, private server. I have tried port forwarding, but it would not work for some reason, so I'm just using Hamachi. And your last sentence makes absolutely no since.

The problem where somebody came in through your hamachi tunnel and destroyed your OS? you should be more careful about who you invite to your server.
