Having problems making snowballs.

After Reading this article.

http://tekkitwiki.co.uk/index.php?title=Compressor

It says you can make snowballs if you have a compressor and a pump right next to each other you can make snowballs.

Here is the Set up

From Right to left

Generator : Electric Engine : Pump : Compressor : Electric Engine

and this doesnt work.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks

I see your trying to make a nuclear reactor and cool it via ice.

1. Depending on the power of the reactor, 1 layer of reinforced stone probably wont do.

2. There's easier ways then compressors, like using a AMR and collector and targeting ice in a condenser and pumping that out.

By the way, your on the tekkit wiki and it says to use a IC2 pump, not buildcraft pump.

Yeah i know i'm on the tekkit wiki. I thought that it would be easier to ask here.

What is a AMR? Advanced machine block?

AMR=Anti matter relay

If your playing tekkit, you go to the tekkit forums.

If your playing technic, you go to the technic forums.

You dont go to one place so its "easier to ask".

I edited my first post btw.

Sorry miss understood what you meant a second ago. With the names being similar i didn't notice.

I though you meant i should have asked on the industrial craft forums or something.

Why would you think that more people would help you with a TEKKIT BUG on the TECHNIC GENERAL board? Is it because you hate getting answers?

Also, notice that you are now in the bug board, so Bug Report Format or, as we say in these parts, "get bent"

I'm having a similar problem. I have the proper pump working on an infinite supply of water, but as soon as I put a compressor adjacent to it it produces only 1 snowball. After that, nomatter what is done the compressor won't produce anymore snowballs. The pump is functioning properly and quickly fills, and will normally fill pipe if its attached. I've tried using redstone torches and/or a switch to the compressor hoping it was just not staying "on" (dumb idea but worth a shot) with no success. Any ideas what's wrong?

Running Tekkit 2.1.1

Pump & Compressor have plenty of power & independently tested to function perfectly.

Tried placing the pump in multiple places over an infinite supply of water & tried placing the compressor on every side of the pump.

Just noticed OP is using buildcraft pump with IC2 compressor, that was his problem.

As for the correct setup only making one snowball and stopping, how patient are you? I just tested it in my test world and it made one snowball and appeared to stop, i watched it for about 10 seconds and it started making another. Looks like there is a delay built in that forces it to wait after each snowball. Adding overclockers causes it to make the snowballs faster but there is still the 10 second delay after each one.

Ok, found the problem:

Apparently the IC2 pump + Compressor combination only works when the pump is over what Tekkit considers a "Water Source" (Light-Blue water block). As soon as it is powered it pumps to fill its internal tank, and all is well. The compressor adjacent to it steals a large amount of that water and creates a snowball. Then, the pump pumps to refill its internal tank just as it should, BUT, here is where the problem comes in: Upon doing this second pumping it turnes the Water Source block into a "Still Water" (darker blue) block, and being over a Still Water block doesn't trigger the Compressor+IC2-Pump combination to make any more snowballs (I gave it 10 minutes to see, and it did nothing, and both had full power). So logically I thought that I just needed a Water Source block that would replinish itself as a Water Source block, so I searched over a few dozen in a large river on my map and found none that would do so. Next, I thought that this was in place to prevent the combo from being used too easily, so I went to the ocean thinking there would be perpetual Water Source blocks there, but alas, the water there acts identical to that in the large river.

So now I'm thinking that there must be some option selected in a config file when generating the map that allows Water Sources to stay Water Sources when interacting with an IC2 pump, or something else simple that I'm missing. Any ideas?
