Onikrex Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Like, a legit, normal minecraft mining shaft type of mining. I've started 7 or 8 mining shafts, and every one of them has hit a water-filled cravat before level 30. They've all been far far away from each other. Just wanting to see if it was just horrid luck with my seed, or if anyone else had had this issue yet. Quote
Joker2040 Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Dig sideways to the edge of the ravine then dig down 1 or more blocks inside the wall of the ravine. Wall up any holes you find into the ravine. For the few water blocks in your way fill with dirt, sand (or gravel) then dig the fill out. Quote
Spudgy Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 If you dig in a biome with snow most of the water will be ice. It seems this pack is set up to encourage dungeon raiding over mining, but for tinkers construct you still need to mine. I guess if you find enough of those ore bushes from the ravines you could set up a farm and get the metals that way. They don't seem to grow larger like the edible berry bushes though. Quote
c0dyb Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 how do you grow the ore bushes? also i have a mine going all the wal to bedrock with several branch mines at various heights, i think you just hit a bad area Quote
MnBran6 Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 C0dy, you have to find the ore bush somewhere and break it. To plant it, place a piece of cobble on the ground and put it on top Quote
The_Weebs Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I've mainly just found ore bushes. If you collect enough of each, you get a decent farm of metals in no time. It is better than trying to have to mine for decades to find enough metals. Quote
c0dyb Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 well damn i didnt know they were plantable i been smelting them Quote
