How to load entire Hexxit pack in Magic Launcher?

I run a LAN Hexxit server on a different PC to avoid chunk lag in the game, but that doesn't help with the very low amount of options given in the TechnicLauncher interface, including the lack of easily adding additional non-Hexxit mods. Long story short, I do not like TechnicLauncher itself for its lack of options and option flexbility, (ML you can specific any MB of RAM, TL you can only specify every fraction; 512mb -> 1Gb -> 1.5Gb ..etc.) and the unneeded splash screen time as well. I would prefer to use Magic Launcher. I have done numerous reworded Google searches and absolutely nowhere is anything like this mentioned.... "FIRST!"

In the server download, I've looked in both the mods and coremods folders, and the file total only went up to 48... Then I went into the Appdata location (for the game itself) and the mod file total from both those folders were 46. Note: I do not count ruins.txt, ruins_log.txt or resources folder when counting up the mods.

Minecraft's main menu when loaded under Technic shows that there are 63 Mods, (I use Optifine, so it might be one of them) some of which I'm pretty sure these are [hidden?] client-only mods.

Where are these other mods if not in the Server OR Appdata directory? On top of the 'missing' mods, in ML you are meant to select a specific .Jar probably based on the mods used.

Would the correct file be;

/Hexxit/Bin/Minecraft.Jar

/Hexxit/Bin/modpack.jar

-Next two taken from the server download-

/HexxitServer/Hexxit.jar

/HexxitServer/minecraft_server.jar

All-in-all, how do I configure this correctly so I can still play in my exact same world. I'd like to keep my stacks of Meteorite and Diamond and my precious 15x30 Blackberry Orchid!

Minecraft.jar is just Vanilla MC, Modpack.jar contains Forge.

In order to play on your world you'll need to somehow get the contents of mods, coremods, and config transferred over to Magic Launcher.

There are no other directorys containing mods or related files. Some mods may show up as multiple times on the mod list. Just with different aspects.

Okay this is urgent now. This program is POORLY written. I could hit F3 and see it was using around the amount I allowed it to, but when I open the Task Manager I'm looking at Java eating HALF of my RAM when I only specified a FOURTH of the total in the Technic Launcher settings AND I do NOT use increase PermGen Size.

It even led to the ingame inventory sprites not being drawn and Windows giving me a Low Memory error. Had to end process. Went from 97% to 27% Physical Memory when I closed the game.

Are you really serious Technic team? Last thing I need to look at right now is a Memory leak.

Me and a friend have experimented on my end getting the pack loaded in Magic Launcher. He's actually able to successfully use the entire Modpack and connect to my server using the default Minecraft Launcher on a Mac, as.. HAHA, another example of poorly coded Technic Launcher... on his system, SOMETIMES the game will start AFTER a full Reboot. I put emphasis on "SOMETIMES". The rest, the game just doesn't open after the Launcher closes out.

I'm putting my faith in the human race once again in the hopes there is SOMEONE here smart enough to get this configured in ML correctly. I can log in, and ForgeModLoader will set up as it did in Technic, but then seconds after I get to the MOJANG screen, it just crashes. So something is out of place. Full crash .txt for ML-Hexxit here http://pastebin.com/ATY6hpZp

You really expect to come in here, insult the Dev team and tell them their work sucks, and then turn around an ask for help? Are you maybe from an alternate dimension where this kind of behavior is acceptable?

I don't. Honestly I don't even care anymore. Tis a shit program (LOL MEMORY LEAK).. FACT, and the alternatives don't work anyways, so that leaves you all a useless lot!

I specifically allow 512MB because clients dont need alot to play a damn MC game. For it to spike to DOUBLE than what I allowed? Lag every 5 seconds? Make the inventory sprites disappear? LOL.

I don't know why I'm even bothering trying to seek help from a group of stupid MONKEYS that release garbage broken programs. GG FAGGOTS

OH and reading back, nothing I wrote in the 2nd post was even bad (considering it's composed of FACTS). If you're offended by anything in Post #2, HA, you got some problems deep down in your brain than some random guy on the internet finding faults in your shitty software.

You only allocated 512MB of RAM and didn't allow permgen to increase? Are you maybe playing games in 2003? It's 2013. Games need a little bit more memory than that, get over it.

Not that I expect a troll like you to return to this thread, hope you are gone forever and good riddance.

Hrm, whoops. Messed up the order of operations here.

The warning was going to be my response, and instead should have been "Raging at people because your purposefully handicapped client isn't behaving like you demand it should doesn't help anyone."

  • 4 months later...

I FOUND OUT HOW TO DO IT (yes i know its a old topic but i still have a solution)

download all hexxit stuff with technic launcher

go to appdata .technic hexxit and copy all in it to .minecraft (make sure ur mod and coremod folders are empty first)

open your minecraft.jar and ur modpack.jar with winrar

drag all files from modpack.jar into minecraft.jar and use 'add and replace' setting

then delete the meta-inf folder in minecraft.jar (if it says error proces is being used then open taskmanager and stop the java proces)

select the minecraft.jar file in magic launcher (it will say modified)

then run it WITH THE LOG

the log will appear and ur minecraft will launch

your screen will freeze but you can still move your mouse (not click anything)

after a minute it will unfreeze with minecraft running with 68 mods

if you still want it then ENJOY
