Title: Hexxit Quits Itself after Installation

OS: Mac OSX 10.8.4

Java Version: Java SE 6 for Mac (default), Java SE 7

Description of Problem:

After downloading Hexxit with no (visible) problem, the client opens, forge sets up its files, and the client auto-quits before even reaching the Mojang page. As seen in the error log, FML lists no issues with the start-up. Everything is displayed with the tag [Fine], [Finest], or [info]. The only warnings have to do with NEI and Chicken Chunks, which are definitely not the problem.

That's really interesting, what version of FML do you use?

Ok, I finally understand the LWJGL 2.9.0 crash that I was experiencing. I was being really stupid and not realizing that I had Optifine installed, which caused this crash. Apparently, LWJGL 2.9.0 doesn't have a few OpenGL features (specifically those needed for HD textures) that Optifine wanted. So, to my fullest understanding, running Optifine on LWJGL 2.9.0 will cause a crash. If anyone knows a fix for this, then it would be great.

Updating LWJGL is a discovery?

[This is kind of off topic] That's not exactly what I meant... It was a discovery in the sense that LWJGL 2.9.0 works with Hexxit 1.0.5... If you read my other post, you'll know that it works with any Hexxit version as long as Optifine isn't installed.

A similar solution was described above but this one doesn't require you to type anything into terminal every time you want to play:

This will run the Technic launcher with Java version 1.6

1) Create a folder on your desktop and put your TechnicLauncher inside

2) Create a new text edit file and paste this into it

export JAVA_HOME=/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6/Home

java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar ~/Desktop/[FILE NAME GOES HERE]/TechnicLauncher.jar

3) Make the file plaintext (Under format)

4) Save the file as TechnicRun.command

5) Open terminal and type

chmod a+x

Do not press enter

4) drag the TechnicRun.command file into the terminal and press return.

5) PLAY AND HAVE FUN!

This solution evaded me for the longest time.

I knew that a shell script could do the same command that I typed in, but they're kind of annoying when you have folder names with spaces in them (I didn't want to put TechnicLauncher.jar on my desktop). Anyways, I renamed my folders and this worked like a charm.

EDIT: Optifine will not run on Java 6. Does anyone know how to get Optifine working on Hexxit on a Mac using Java 7?
