So, I decided to get back into Tekkit today, but when I started up the batch file from a brand new tekkit server download, I get this: (though the server still runs fine)

I also noticed while playing, that things like the pocket crafting table and scaffolding are unavailable/missing. Two things which I have gotten so used to that, without them, Tekkit is almost unplayable. There is really no good information on what features carry over between Tekkit releases, or anything about these "missing mod" warnings.

So, what's going on here? Is it a huge hassle to manually add in the mods which contain pocket crafting and scaffolding, or is it something I can do in 20 minutes?

Thanks for your time!

EDIT: I am talking about the latest version of Tekkit, not Lite or Classic

so those warnings are meaningless, MFR has comparability packs with tons of mods, if it doesn't find the mod installed it doesn't load, there exsists both portable crafting options and scaffolding, try harder.

try harder.

Thanks for your amazing advice, you sure are helpful.

Mind telling me what the scaffolding is called so I can find it in NEI? Also, I know you can use the minium stone for portable crafting, but it was nice to have that pocket table in the very early game.

vine scaffolding; workbench backpack. think they don't actually make an appearance until 1.1.5 or 1.1.6, so you may need to upgrade your Tekkit version in the TechnicLauncher.

http://wiki.technicpack.net/Tekkit (not everything is in there yet, especially 1.1.5/1.1.6 stuff since it's not yet 'official')

Ah, I see. 1.0.6 is the latest download link on the main page, so yeah that would explain it. Thanks!

I am still wondering, though, why it often seems like "one step forward, two steps back" in regard to Tekkit updates. It just feels like more features get removed than added between builds.

*sigh*

be careful when asking that question, as it's been asked far too often on these boards.

In brief, things are different and therefore can be painful to those that have tried-and-true habits and preferences. But different also is an opportunity to try out new things and figure things out from the bottom up. So just try to enjoy the new stuff and the figuring it all out again. There's lots there... like Applied Energistics, BioFuel setups and now (in the newest releases) Atomic Science.
