squishy Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Could someone give/show me a guide on what the setup for a 1.6.x modpack is? I tried the old format, but the Technic launcher doesn't even TRY to load it. Quote
Amaxter Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Make a bin folder, download the Forge UNIVERSAL jar for whatever version you're using, and put that into the bin folder. Also make sure you zipis named modpack.zip. Quote
jwa1 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Modpack.zip /bin - modpack.jar /config - config files here /mods - mods go here Quote
Lampleye Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 jwa1, I have tried that. It is not working. I am trying to use minecraft 1.6.2 with the proper and most recent version of forge. What is happening is that nothing is being populated in the folder that the modpack is supposed to be installed in. All the folders are there they are just empty. I am using dropbox to host the files. Could that be the cause? Quote
Amaxter Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 What compression program are you using? Quote
Lethosos Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Try using "dl" instead of "www" where you put the direct download into the modpack information. Other than that, it needs to be a .zip file. Quote
Lampleye Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I am using winRAR to make the zip file. link to log for the launcher. It is saying there is some sort of error. Can anybody tell me what to do to fix it? https://www.dropbox.com/s/366pyxucvgi5122/log.txt Quote
jwa1 Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 You need to put the modpack.zip in your Dropbox public folder. Quote
Lampleye Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Apparently Dropbox in their infinite wisdom have decided to remove the public folder feature in any new accounts. I switched over to an old account and it is running perfectly. thanks Quote
squishy Posted October 25, 2013 Author Posted October 25, 2013 Yay! Thanks to you guys i've gotten it to work. Thanks! Quote
00Ducky Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 You can right click on the download button and open the download in a new page. Copy the URL. Direct download. Quote
LezChap Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 https://www.dropbox.com/enable_public_folder to enable the public folder on new accounts...I had to do it. Quote
jwa1 Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 The public folder is a lot easier if you have to manage multiple downloads, like me. :) Quote
