Character Name: Maximillian Audaine Character Age: 35 Character Race: Silvian Character Biography and Description: Maximillian Audaine started his life as being a slave for a ranchowner and was forced into hard labour at the age of 8. He has had to move crates of wheat and other foodstuffs, as well as tend towards the animals, replant and havest crops, and repair any broken machinery with no payment. One night, Mr. Audaine had decided he had enough and took liberation into his own hands. Knowing the basic makeup of plants and an understanding of machinery on the farm, Maximillian had created a poison which slowly kills of the recipient cell by cell for a week until they have died. He had slipped some of it into his slave master's coffee in the morning and had prepared a small supply of food and water for himself once the week was up. Once his slave master had died, he had ran for the docks looking for work on a ship. He had gotten work on a ship called The Icarus and had began I life of piracy at the age of 15. He had bounced around from crew to crew, and had obtained a ship for himself, which he had named The Unrelenting Storm. His crew had consisted of fellow Silvian refugees and human pirates. During a raid against a oceanic transport of GMS devices bound for Midgar, where the attack had gone sour and the Midgar forces were killing his men. Out of regret, fear of death, and guilt, he had abandoned ship hoping to be killed by nature, and not by the law. Unfortunately for him, he had drifted into the coastline unharmed and weak. Character Name: Hael Bastion Hemn Character Age: 28 Character Race: Cyborg Character Biography and Description: Born in a small and dedicated family, son of Meira Tiya Tomao-Hemn and Leko Kana Hemn. The first years of his life were quite average, his parents made him pursue academic studies in hopes of becoming a higher up in Helios Inc. Only after his brother, Alek Mea Hemn, was born did his life take a turn for the wild side. His mischievous brother was constantly getting into trouble with the wrong crowds, and Hael became a protector of his little brother. Although still dedicated to his studies, he had begun training himself well-knowing that he would be his little brothers only chance the day he made an incredibly stupid mistake. This combined with the gangs he was already fighting and his dedication to studies formed him into a strong and aggressive person. His most notable downfall is that his aggression now sometimes leads him into the wrong situations, and he must follow his brother into all sorts of dangerous situations. Hael uses his education to his advantage, early on learning that the tools he used engineering could be the same tools he used violently. He began to realize he could also use engineering defensively, as metal makes quite tough armor. In the end, Alek's mischief caused their downfall, and they both had to leave Midgar in exile. They found their way, in the end, to Cestus, which is where they are now. Hael is a broad shouldered individual, who has a metal body only visible through rips in his shirt. He is quite muscular through years of fighting, but would not be described as a bulky individual. While I was in this inebriated state, a horrible deed was performed by me. I had attempted to perform intercourse with a lantern pole in the alley next to the bar. Oh, what a shameful act, indeed! I will never outlive this, nor will anyone forget. Future generations will tell the tale of the man who attempted to have intercourse with a lamp pole in a drunken stupor! At first, I let them brawl and see if one can quickly finish the other off, for my own entertainment. I am just tittering on, minding my own merry business, when I see this small group of thugish soldiers hunkering down on a perfectly shady-looking fellow in the middle of the walk. I find myself listening in as the smells of the marketplace flood around me, people are talking to each other and speaking of the latest fashions and celebrities and such. I overhear the men talking about some missing parts from a shop, and immediately sink in attitude, and look at the credits that I have stashed away in my jacket pocket. Ok, So I had this crazy dream... or experience... or hallucination... maybe it was real... Oh well, anyway, I was just chilling outside of this quaint little school, the only one in the sector, in fact. Well, I was waiting for school to get out so I could pick up on some attractive and curious minors. Don't judge me, we all have our preferences. All right so back to the story, What I didn't realize was the reason the street was so quiet was because it was a weekend. I know, silly me, but then I saw a small group of businessmen carrying guns through the alleyway around the building. I sent a little bird with a note to the nearest precinct and run after them. They pull out a few very frightening weapons, so frightening in fact, that I turned them into weapon shaped balloons, and laughed as they got strung up by some very "mysterious" vines that spontaneously grew up from the ground. I fled though, because the police in the sector didn't exactly want to kiss me.... Mainly since I tried to "trick" the one policeman's daughter into running away with me. If you ask me, he should have raised her properly and she wouldn't jump on the first attractive stranger to bump into her and smile at her within a few blocks of her school, but that's a different story. Well I have been telling how I kinda chase minors right? Well this story may be a little weird but I got a group of teenagers drunk and I guess a little too drunk to consent so yea... I'd rather not get into that too much, but now I am not too well liked in certain circles... like all of them that know the story. So there was this one time when I was just walking down the piss-smelling alleyways of lower Midgar when I am brutally threatened by a large, but not-so-oddly dumb looking fellow. I just ventured back to the main streets, totally nude. Incidentally that is also the start of 2 other stories, one which ended in me ending up staying the night in a jail for public indecency and the other being my first homoerotic experience to take place in a jail cell. I was out of money, so I stole some power cells i found on a crate at my house and sold them to an old man. It turned out that those power cells were going to be thrown in the trash because they were defective products, and they exploded when the old man tried to use them, and killed him. I wanted to be kind and help others despite the situation, and that would cost my success and any dreams I had of being a master engineer. They prohibit the basic no-noes of RP servers such as no Meta-gaming, Power-gaming (God Modding), no land-scarring, keep in ICC when in local, and Global. Character Name: Franz Otto Xaver "Fox" Character Age: Twenty Four Character Race: Transhuman Character Biography and Description: "Fox" as he was referred to quite jokingly, if not mockingly over his Initials, is a Transhuman, but he wasn't always this way of course. Born to a rather poor family, his "family" consisted of the typical sob story. His father walked out very early in his life, he doesn't remember exactly when, his mother never really elaborated upon this, and said it like it was a standard statement. Well this was when she wasn't drunk, and or on some substance. As a young child he wandered the street like most children do, especially the less fortunate ones. Times when his mother couldn't keep a job, whether that be a job of an exotic taste, or a low-paid low skill job, were the most dangerous. People that haven't had a hit in too long of a time do crazy things, this is exactly what happened to Franz... Shady men went through the poorer districts offering money for participation in "medical" studies, just enough to get that next hit. In a extremely withdrawn state his mother gave him up to these men in black suits for just enough money to get a hit or two. Out of all the memories that Franz can still remember sharply this is one. He never really came back from this, being betrayed at a young age by your own family does terrible things to a child, and is one of the things contributing to his multipersonality disorder. The men who took him for "Medical Studies" were experimenting on several young children like Franz. They experimented implementing Animal DNA for a numerous of reasons, some reasons were to make them faster, stronger, or smarter. Obviously the program was great in theory, but these experiments putting Fox DNA (In Franz's case) or Eagle DNA into a Human doesn't really guarantee even the slightest improvement over a regular human. The results although in the areas targeted increased ( Minutely), it wasn't enough to consider more funding. The "Scientific" firm that conducted these tests over those long years, went under from this loss of funding, and in an effort to save money released the subjects or sold them away depending on the results. Franz's results were not useful for any specific buyer, coupled with his personality disorder, so they just dumped him out into the world. Franz managed to live off of random jobs when ever he could get work, living on the streets. Living on the fringes of civilization, and just trying to survive however he could. Due to the splicing, and tampering with his DNA he has some improvements in hearing, but at the cost of being quite sensitive to high-pitched sounds. He also has to move every once and a while, because of his random outbursts personality disorder, coupled with him being a Transhuman of all things. Description: Light Brown/Black Hair Green/Hazel Eyes Below Average Height due to malnutrition as a child Light Build Suffers from trust issues, and multiple personality disorder due to DNA splicing, and experimental medicines. "Franz" Personality: This is the personality that received the training, and conditioning, but was broken (the main reason that he was just released) resulting in the two personalities. Refers to himself in 3rd person frequently, and is quite crazy. "F.o.x" Personality: Cunning, driven, survival oriented, somewhat pessimistic. He doesn't feel like getting a "ticket" for impeding justice or worse getting accused of stealing things as well. I would envision confronting them, saving the day, but they are probably those terrorists you hear about that outright murder tons of people. Transhumans are abominations in the eyes of some people, and you can only hold back a secret for so long. Especially when the secret is physically evident, such as Franz's. No reason risking prison for public disruption. I value my life, and personal welfare, fights are a good way to get killed, or be disabled. I try to avoid conflict when i can. Finally... Firstly, when introducing a character's lore it needs to be believable and on par with the other players in the game. I am creating a character that fits into the lore of the game and I let the game shape the character. Not the other way around. Secondly, Meta-gaming is seriously frowned upon. All characters knowledge should be based off of in game experience and intuition. It makes RPing more believable and fun (in my opinion). I do this in other games like Skyrim. I let the quests and the people guide me, not the fact that I know what quests and events are out there. If they leave the man I will claim that he is indebted to me and I expect him to return the favor. Whether he was guilty or not. If they insist on continuing to harass him... People can't understand that not all augmentations are about looks but about quality and progress. If this drives away friends and family then that simply means less distractions. However, if the augmentation is preventing my progress because of the lack of interactions of others, then I may decide to alter it or remove it all together. This update will add in another continent, and shift the focus of the server more towards the progressive MMORPG focus. We will be implementing classes of varying degree, aswell as a fully progressive spells system. On top of these few additions, we have much much more planned that cannot be put into words just yet, but we will have a comprehensive quests and reputations system that will allow the player to gain reputation with certain factions of the land. This reputation can be used to either buy specific goods that cant be found, or at a lower price, or to purchase player housing in vibrant areas of the map itself. Additionally, this update, once finished, will reinstitute an old custom of ours: Providing end-game multiplayer raid dungeons, populated with custom mobs and bosses, all complete with their own custom loot tables. We look forward to the future, and to anyone who wishes to check out the server once the update is complete. As always, the server is live right now, but incomplete due to being in its open beta phase. You may access the server, and play to your hearts content.
