Problems installing Optifine 1.6.4 into a modpack.

Hello!

I am having a problem with OptiFine in 1.6.4

I have MinecaftForge's 9.11.1.953 universal .jar renamed to modpack.jar and it launches fine.

I have tried adding Optifine to the /mods folder. crashes before title screen: something about minecraft.entityrender

I have tried putting the optifine files in the jar and removing meta-inf. crashes before title screen: "hey i'm mcforge and i see something thats not me in my house! what shall i do? i shall... KILL MY HOUSE"

I need some help on how to install optifine 1.6.4 HD C7 into a mc 1.6.4 modpack.

Thanks,

I tried installing OptiFine 1.6.4 HD U C8 (now compatible with Forge #953)not.

Putting in the /mods crashes before the menu with:

According to the OptiFine MCFourm page, if you add this command-line parameter, it should work

-Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true

Is there any way to define those parameters to apply to the pack on the technic launcher?

nope, last time I checked there was no way to edit the launch parameters.

look here for modded version of c8 that works (working great for me on all 1.6.4 modpacks) http://www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/1t0y67/works_direwolf20_164_pack_optifine_issue_fix/

there are issues with regular optifine and some of the mods changing some of the same things, this fixes that

DO NOT USE THIS 'FIX'

If you read the comments in the linked page, the 'fix' causes more problems then it solves.

tekkit 1.6.4 with optifine! i havent been able to play in over a month due to updated ect, the link is good, it is trusted and does infact work!

optifine is loaded and working in my 1.6.4 FROM MODS FOLDER!! no opening and splicing or deleting meta-inf or anything! like omg its lovely.

optifinefml.7z download link (dropbox)

How to use
1. Make a copy of OptiFine_.jar file and rename to "[0000]_OptiFine_whatever yourssays.jar" (or other meaningful name) .
2. Open optifinefml.7z and [0000]_OptiFine_.jar in archive program (7-Zip or WinRAR or WinZip).(for 7zip, open 7zip then navigate to it, has issues opening directly if winrar takes over)
3. Copy files and folders inside optifinefml.7z to [0000]_OptiFine_.jar .
4. Close archive program.
5. Copy [0000]_OptiFine_whateveruput.jar to mods folder.
6. Make sure the original OptiFine_.jar is not also in mods folder.

ONLY WORKS with Optifine HD c4 or c5!!!

http://optifined.net/adloadx.php?f=OptiFine_1.6.4_HD_U_C4.jar

http://optifined.net/adloadx.php?f=OptiFine_1.6.4_HD_U_C5.jar

I used the above exactly and my tekkitmain 1.6.4 now loads perfectly fine with optifine!

[ btw i used c5 ]

its nothing to do with your pc, its to do with 1.6.4 and forge not playing nice. when you launch tekkitmain it gives a invail ticket, so the game will not load and gives you the launcher again. doing this makes u have optifine for tekkitmain 1.6.4 current reccomended version with no mess or fuss!!

Or, just for giggles mind you, you could follow the author's instructions and:

  1. Download Optifine and put it into your mods folder: http://optifine.net/download.php?f=OptiFine_1.6.4_HD_U_D1.jar
  2. Play Tekkit.

Seems a bit simpler than the previous, necroposted, needlessly complicated machinations.

x128 texture packs doesn't work for me with Attack of the B Team v1.0.10b coupled with optifine

But that's fine, I'll live with x64

If a 128x texture pack doesn't work for you (regardless of the modpack) then something is off on your client end:

  • The texture pack is malformed/corrupted
  • More memory needs to be allocated in the Launcher.
  • More memory needs to be available in your physical PC.
  • Possible video card driver/performance issues (unlikely).
