Shelldore Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Just got a new laptop, and I was trying to transfer my Tekkit files over (I had added Mekanism to the pack) and when I started looking at the files I noticed that even though they were in the same version the mod packs were different... And every time I try copying and pasting my old modpack files in the tekkit folder, it automatically updates and removes my additions... is there any way to fix this?
Moderators Munaus Posted December 17, 2013 Moderators Posted December 17, 2013 Doesn't the launcher ask you if you want to update? It should...
Timendainum Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 I would try this: Install Tekkit from scratch on the new machine. Get it all working. Then, apply your custom changes. Although really, you could be creating your own mod pack for this sort of thing, which would solve the problem you are running into.
phazeonphoenix Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 Make sure you're using the same Tekkit versions. Click on the gear on the left under the Tekkit logo. It will let you choose which version of tekkit you're running. The launcher shouldn't "update" the pack if all you did was add a mod to it. It doesn't check every file on every launch. So your Old instance was probably set to a specific version and your new instance is set to recommended or latest or another version entirely.
