We are open 24/7 365 folks :)

Basic Server Rules: No griefing, No PvP(disabled anyway so there isn't much choice is the matter), Don't ride the chocobo's under the influence!

How you doing everyone my name is sp4tan01 and I am pleased to announce that the Serverhobbyist Official Mod Pack and Server are now public. So you might be wondering what is my mod pack all about? Well its about being able to play, enjoy, all the wonderful mods minecraft has to offer in a lag free environment. Not only do we offer a great and stable mod pack with over 200 mods included but we offer a high end server to play it with your friends.

Check out the mod pack here: http://www.technicpack.net/modpack/details/serverhobbyist-modpack.303018

So here are some features our server offers

  • Gigabit Fiber Connection. Our server is co-located at a tier 4 datacenter
  • Xeon Quad Core processor
  • 8 Gb of ram to start with
  • 45 player slots to begin with(Not limited to).
  • Over 200  mods catering to everyone from the lowly farmer, the recluse in the woods, and that one guy on the server who we all swear is doing some sort of genetic testing in his basement.
  • Access to 8 different dimensions with The End included!
  • 1 hour of day and only 10 minutes of night to let you build longer without having to hide from the baddies.
  • Bukkit plugins to help keep me from pulling my hair out and you from getting griefed.
  • A very minimal amount of banned items. Listen I understand you want to build that nuclear reactor and I am not going to get in your way.  Be right back I left my hazmat suit at home.
  • No Items that are banned because you don’t donate to the server. If your a seasoned minecraft veteran then I am sure you have been on servers that make you donate to “unlock” certain items. I find that to be bullshit and don’t believe in such an obscene method of profiting off of mods that are free to begin with. Blocks/Items that are banned on my server are banned from everyone because they are either over powered, griefing tools, or simply crash the client or server.

Our server uses a plugin called GriefPrevention. Because working with mods requires the need to have a lot of space I give each player 18,000 claim blocks. Yes you heard me right, 18,000 claim blocks. No I am not crazy there is a perfectly logical reason for this. In my server where there are 8 different dimensions you can play in I allow players to make claims in 6 of them. That gives players the choice to have one or two big claims in a couple dimensions or a max of 6 claims with 3,000 claim blocks in all 6 dimensions.

For this reason you will never have to worry about getting griefed on my server. As for the PvP it is disabled for the time being but I am mulling over the idea of enabling it in a dimension such as the moon or mars. That just depends on what you guys tell me you want in these forums here or on my website.

If you want more information regarding the specifics of the mods in the pack, the plugins our server uses, as well as the best way to set up optifine(included in the pack) to get the best frame rate, please visit our beautiful site at minecraft.serverhobbyist.com

I have personally played on this server, I have played on multiple others but this one is the best one yet. This server has almost all the mods that I have used and many new ones. It even has Chocobo's!!! I LOVE CHOCOBO'S!!

I love this mod pack. I have played a lot of Sp4tan01's private mod packs over the years and I must say he out did himself this time. It even has traincraft, I haven't seen any public packs that include it. On top of having this great extensive mod pack the server runs really smooth. I have no issues with the server lagging at all.

My bad for not mentioning this here guys(it is mentioned on my site). For those of  you kind enough to try and join today I have seen a few that were getting end of stream errors. This can be caused by not having enough ram allocated to java. This mod pack is pretty large so your going to want to spare anywhere from 5 to 8 gb of ram for it. There are two places you need to do this from. The technic launcher and your java installation in the control panel of your pc. Just don't forget that and you will have no problems getting onto the server and using this pack.

I'm a fellow server owner with a very large mod pack like your own. We found that 3 GB is perfect for 150+ mods, because most players simply don't have 4GB or more memory to spare. It then comes down to them even having the processing power in their CPU and loading times with how fast their hard drives are. If you look while in-game with your memory set to 3, it won't usually go up past 2000. But a large pack will require around 3 as Technic tries to load up all of the mods.

Goodluck with your new server

Hey thanks for the info Magnum. I was just going off of what I saw that my max ram usage ever was while using the mod pack(6gb). I was saying 5-8 just to be on the safe side. Since your a fellow server owner can you give me some tips on keeping the server lag free when players are loading chunks? I have a world border but not all the chunks have been loaded inside of it yet.

However, the time of Julius Caesar, when the Huns arrive? Shit Ramiro, the badge. The other interesting point of fact dealt a deathly blow to the Roman Empire in Antiquity, and later, in the midst of the 400's, to be more exact, the Baskir settlement names. But then I started to play with the idea of whether the Huns arrived in 328? Later, if you give it to me anyway.

No, it's so full but you can just wipe it a little short and that would be. That looks like the number scheme interpreter two pencil trick. It can be an icebreaker at a convention, allowing you to connect with scheme interpreter people you otherwise would not. You can do one of these little projectors for Christmas and lo and behold I was. Gemini rules the hands and the pairs of the body. All right, I have told everyone I know about you and your perfect body is: your own motivation. Here is my web site magician philadelphia

Love, love, love this modpack.  It has everything I like to use, food, furniture, awesome.  I did notice an id conflict.  The baked potato on the tab for SG Craft.

Yea i noticed that too but i wouldnt call it an id conflict. I always check the forge logs before every release and fix any item conflicts. Check your forge log to double check. If it has conflicts in there that I missed please post them here or on my forums as it would be really helpful. Thanks for your comment as well Pixie. Make sure to check out our server when you get a chance.

It is a little laggy at the moment but thats is because I am force loading all the chunks inside the world border(large world border so it is taking a while). But it will be done shortly.
