Redwood tree not growing

Hello,

I have my house in a redwood forest and I want to have a redwood tree in a specific place, after looking on the wiki I discovered that you need to plant saplings in a 5*5 diamond shape, but it doesn't seem to grow I mean like I've afk in my test world for 30mins or plus and didn't grew, is it a bug or am I just not doing it the right way ?

Redwoods take a long time to grow, something like a real-life day IIRC. You can try leaving your world open overnight.

I'm not sure that BoP redwoods actually grow - they were bugged a while back and I don't know if they fixed it.  They only need a single sapling.

 

Natura redwoods need a 7x7 square.

BoP Redwoods i havent been able to get to grow unless it is only a single sapling and nothing in the surrounding area blocking growth (leaves, blocks, torches, etc) and even then it took an hour before it grew. Natura redwoods dont have an issue with.

I have grown them in a 2x2 square. This should make it grow.

Recently, Daniel?  I remember them being 3x3, then bugged, then 1, then bugged, but I've only seen jungle saplings that needed 2x2 - you're sure it wasn't those?
