Let's use Minecraft to study how humans explore!

Hi there,

Interested in playing Tekkit for Science? As part of the work towards a PhD, I've developed a game using Tekkit Classic to study how humans explore environments. I'd written about my experience making it a while back (http://vaisaghvt.wordpress.com/2013/06/12/making-a-game-to-study-how-humans-explore/) . I've finally got the funds to host it online and I'm looking for some volunteers to play it.

If you're interested, please go to http://www.vaisaghvt.com/minecraft-experiment/ and sign up. More details required to play are there at that link. Once you sign up, you'll get the IP address for the server. This is a white listed server with just your username and it will be shut down once you are done.  If you're fast enough (or early enough) in completing the game you'll be on the leaderboard here: http://www.vaisaghvt.com/minecraft-experiment/leaderboard/ (No, you don't get anything other than bragging rights and being part of an interesting experiment). In general, it takes up to 30 minutes to finish the game.

In case you run into any trouble in any part of the process of signing up and playing or any of the instructions are not clear, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks!

Vaisagh

Hello! I told vaisaghvt that he could post this here in Cafe Lame, since it was academic in nature. Moderators, please allow this thread to remain, and players, please do not use the existence of this thread to post your Anarchy servers or whatever here in Cafe Lame.

Sign up to play Tekkit for science!
