Trying to make a server, dont know how.

so im trying to make a ultra modded survival server but i have no idea what im doing. ive made a server before but it was tekkit. i read that i need to make a mods folder but remove client only mods. and what kind of server should i download? any help would be appreciated. Please and thank you

• Create a folder. We'll reference that as SERVER.
• Download this file and extract it into SERVER: https://copy.com/qLsTvZfUUkkb
• Copy the config and mods folders (as well as anything else that is part of the client pack like Flan or Chocolate) into SERVER.
• Remove any client only mods from SERVERmods
• Copy the modpack.jar file from the client pack's bin folder to SERVER.
• Download the minecraft server jar for the correct version of MC and put it in SERVER.
• Start the server with something like "java -Xmx2048m -Xms2048m -jar modpack.jar" in a batch file or from a command window.

Benxie...there is no difference between Windows and Linux.

You make the modpack or server exactly the same. Only thing that might be different is a script that launches the server (which will not be a .bat, but rather a .sh and a little different content).
