Moderators AetherPirate Posted July 16, 2014 Moderators Posted July 16, 2014 Running tekkit, not classic or lite. Messing with force fields, have a problem: Any attempt to make one bigger than 10 or 11 results in holes, even though I have sufficient power, the projector is full for forcetron. I stuffed it full of capacity and speed upgrades, and did my coercion and capacitor too. Power seems to not be the issue. Bug, or me overlooking something / being stupid? '> Quote
jakalth Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 could be a visual bug due to size and distance from the field. Or you just need to give the field enough time too form. it can take a while on a larger field. Quote
HeatHunter Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 how far away from you is the force field emmitter? (is the chunk with it still loaded?) what shape are you using? can you post a pic of the emmitter configuration? normally a field of that size should make no problems... had similar problems with force fields in a size of 192 (sphere shape) Quote
Moderators AetherPirate Posted July 17, 2014 Author Moderators Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) I gave it a stack of speed upgrades, and gave it overnight. I did a cube, first at 10, 11, then 12. Twelve failed to form. Ten and eleven formed normally, and fast. I can walk through the holes without sneaking. They are real holes. Its a cube, haven't tried other shapes yet. '> '> '> '> There is a tesseract in that mess powering it all. Edited July 17, 2014 by AetherPirate Quote
HeatHunter Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 the first and the last pic are the same would be interesting to see the actual force field configuration Quote
Moderators AetherPirate Posted July 18, 2014 Author Moderators Posted July 18, 2014 Whoops, will fix later Quote
HeatHunter Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 thanks, will try to reproduce this this evening Quote
Moderators AetherPirate Posted July 21, 2014 Author Moderators Posted July 21, 2014 Thanks, I also tried storing the forcetron in tanks (made a massive amount) and tesseracted into the projector. Same result, so probably not a capacitor or supply problem. Quote
Moderators AetherPirate Posted July 21, 2014 Author Moderators Posted July 21, 2014 Moved it out of the quarry and it worked fine. Quote
Moderators AetherPirate Posted July 21, 2014 Author Moderators Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) Hmm. Being on or near bedrock seems to be the problem. Edited July 21, 2014 by AetherPirate Quote
HeatHunter Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 might be a problem when it tries to form the field blocks in illegal space (below bedrock) you could try to put some Translation modules in the 'up' slot and see if it's forming correct then... Quote
Moderators AetherPirate Posted July 21, 2014 Author Moderators Posted July 21, 2014 Just thinking that. I'll try tonight. Quote
Moderators AetherPirate Posted July 23, 2014 Author Moderators Posted July 23, 2014 Confirmed. Translated it up and it's fine. Played with the field stabilizer too, it's amazing. Made a HUGE cube of cobble by placing a DSU next to it. Had to use three fluidduct outputs from the tesseract to give it enough forcetron. Love this thing. Quote
HeatHunter Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 you should also be able to provide materials using your me-network... combined with quantum bridges you can setup this system anywhere (even in space) and use mffs to build pretty large structures... Quote
Moderators AetherPirate Posted July 24, 2014 Author Moderators Posted July 24, 2014 Yar! I'll have to test that when I do a space station. Quote
