So my friends and I want to play tekkit since we all play it, just usually not together, so we've finally decided to create one and we were playing for a few hours before we noticed that nothing from the mods were actually there. Couldn't created modded items, nothing from the mods were in there whatsoever. I was just curious what I am doing wrong to not have everything load in. I assume that I am doing something wrong I am just not quite sure what it is exactly that I am doing wrong. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, I will move and remove it if it belongs somewhere else.

Thanks!

Sam.

Actually, I found the tekkit.jar, my roommate was telling me to just run the batch file which always seemed off, im trying it now and i'll be back if there are anymore problems. THANK YOU SIR. On a side note what is the one that I am always supposed to launch after the server gets running? tekkit jar or launch bat?

You always want to be using a batch/script to launch the JAR. The default memory allocation sizes are fatally low for a modded MC server and the only way to increase them is to add parameters to the command line. The easiest way to do that is with a batch file.

The launch bat is the preferred file to be using. I would only ever recommend running the Tekkit jar file directly if you are testing config edits before making it more or less live. Other reasons were already covered by plow.

So I guess im having a new problem, I keep getting about halfway through and it will crash while trying to set up the server. Ideas? I'll see if I can find the crash logs.
