How do I change from my default skin?

I was wondering how to change my skin properly. The stuff I have tried is kinda buggy so I thought maybe you guys could recommend a good place or maybe a nice skin to check out

1. Find skin online that you're interested in.

2. Download said skin.

3. Sign in to http://www.minecraft.net/

4. Go to http://www.minecraft.net/profile

5. Click upload file

6. Select the skin image you downloaded.

I tried that, and it only changed it for my minecraft game. But, technic you know is a different launcher, and it doesn't change in there.

The launcher launches minecraft, that's all there is to it. It connects to the mojang servers, logs you you, and downloads a fresh copy of vanilla minecraft.

If you have a different skin in vanilla then you do in technic then you tried to alter your technic install and failed.

Then you certainly did something wrong.

the launcher remembers your old skin, which is why it looks like it hasn't changed when you open it up and see your little dude there. in game though, it should change regardless. start up a single player world or log into a server and hit f5. you should see that you have your changed skin, not the old one.
