The_Glaive Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Hey guys, I have a pump BC pump that is pumping lava into a tank, and I want to move that lava back to the overworld, but I am very far off from having the resources to make a tesseract. Can I use an ender tank instead? How do I make sure that the chunk with the pump in it is loaded? Quote
Curunir Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 (edited) You can of course use an Ender Tank, if you have the resources to make one. As for chunk loading, a Dimensional Anchor is the cheapest way to keep chunks loaded, but you could also use a Chunk Loader. A nice alternative that will also take care of the chunk loading is using an Ender-Thermic Pump instead of the Buildcraft one. This one has the added advantage of replacing all removed lava blocks with stone or cobble. Edited September 29, 2014 by Curunir Quote
Moderators AetherPirate Posted September 29, 2014 Moderators Posted September 29, 2014 If you are playing on a server, find out they permit chunk loaders. If so, then that would work. If you haven't played with EE3 yet, it's worth a look. It shortens the path to tesseracts, among other things. Quote
The_Glaive Posted September 29, 2014 Author Posted September 29, 2014 Looks like I'll need 5 ender pearls in order to make the Ender-Thermic Pump, plus 12 obsidian and a diamond? That really isn't all that bad. Plus I'll need at least 2 more ender pearls for the pair of ender tanks I'll need to actually get the lava back to the overworld. This seems pretty doable for the short term. I checked out EE3 and it does look like a way to get to tesseracts faster. I'll probably check that out. Quote
Curunir Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Well, EE3 will effectively give you unlimited Iron, Gold, Diamond and Ender Pearls once you have an Obsidian generator. The only other thing limiting your progress will be Enderium, i.e. Shiny Metal to make it. Which can be obtained from smelting Ferrous Ore with Cinnabar in an Induction Smelter. Cinnabar can be had by pulverizing Redstone Ore, which in turn is obtained either with a Silk Touch pickaxe or by simply smelting Nether Redstone Ore. Blaze Powder for the Pyrotheum (to smelt the Enderium Blend) is the other scarce resource, but once you have a Reusable Safari Net, just catch a Blaze and put it into an Auto-Spawner in front of a Grinder. Unlimited Blaze Rods. Knowing that, getting Tesseracts should be rather simple. Quote
Silmenume Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 If I recall properly, and that is always an iffy proposition, one can manufacture Blaze Powder using Glowstone Dust and liquified Redstone. Quote
Curunir Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 You can do that. But ironically, Glowstone is actually harder to obtain than Blaze Powder. Once you get a Blaze farm going, the rods should come puring in. To date, I have not learned of any way to mass-produce Glowstone (other than yellow-focus Laser Drills, of course). A Mystcraft Age with Glowstone tendrils may still be an option, but you will have to get a stable Age with that first, and then go and actually mine the stuff. Quote
EvilOwl Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Glowstone can be purchased from villagers.. Villager farm... That's the idea Quote
The_Glaive Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Ok, just an update. I have an Ender-Thermic Pump pumping into an Ender tank, the Ender tank is feeding into a magmatic dynamo, the dynamo has energy conduit connected to the pump. I had to prime the dynamo with a bucket of lava to get it started, but now it is up and running. Using an Ender tank, a Magmatic Dynamo and an Ender chest, I now have a way to set up remote quarry locations anywhere I want. This will get me by until I can get the resonant ender in the quantities I need to make a few tesseracts. Quote

We're either going to catch and enderman with a net and make a kill room using a grinder, or we'll use mystcraft to make a world with a lake of resonant ender and pump it out. We just think it's cooler these other ways. Edited September 30, 2014 by The_Glaive Quote
Curunir Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Sure. Cooperation is always nice. I consider EE3 a tool to get things done when you don't have teammates to share tedious tasks with. Remember that it's far easier to get that Mystcraft Age stable when only the Deep Lakes are made of Resonant Ender, not the ocean. A cave world might be useful, as it does not have oceans anyway. The_Glaive Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Thanks for the pro tip concerning the cave world. Quote
