Logge Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I wonder if it's able to release a Tekkit Server version without Bukkit, because I never played Bukkit and Tekkit can't be released, because the ports for Bukkit aren't all done. And if the Tekkit team waits untill all is updated we have already 1.4 untill all the ports are done. We have 1.2.5 and Tekkit is still on 1.1. That makes me sad.... Revelator Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Running a Tekkit server without Bukkit would be foolish really, no protection whatsoever in vanilla, where as in Bukkit you have several logs, / admin / anti-grief systems. (Which also do work with Tekkit items) since a simple /kick / ban won't really do it on a tekkit server. Quote
Milk Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 It's possible, since all the mods in tekkit are SMP anyway. Though I doubt the team would be willing to put in the extra work. Also, they're just waiting on the redpower2 port, which shouldn't take long. (My guess - about a week) Quote

Have you tried to manually build a server the dev client can log into? The client shouldn't care about the type of server it's logging into as long as all the mod versions match (and probably stuff like item ids). Quote
