Liquids do not flow correctly in SMP?

Question

Posted

Launcher/pack Version: Launcher version 1.0.1.3/ Tekkit 2.1.1

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate

Version of Java: Latest, not sure which number but I just got it a few days ago.

Description of Problem:

When we place or remove lava/water blocks they don't fill in correctly. They do not run correctly, making it impossible to create things like cobblestone farms. It will usually end up flowing where it should, but it can sometimes take 15+ minutes to do so, and even then it doesn't always. Everything else on the server runs smoothly though, with no lagging behind or anything. Does anybody know what might be causing this, or what can be done?

Are you running through a host or is it on your personal computer? Also, how much ram do you (they) have?

This is my computer, I've only got myself and two friends playing. I currently have 8gb of DDR3 RAM. I'm highly doubtful that this is the problem considering there's never any lag or connection related problems in any other area. As well as this is not the first server I've had, nor the most people I've ever had on one.

Another thing, if I start a new world and spawn some lava/water, they both flow fine. If I use any of the worlds I have that are more "developed" however, the liquids are glitchy. This is a very confusing problem.

I am currently having this exact same problem.

My server is running on 3.0.4 (just updated an hour ago to see if it would fix it, it didn't).

i have 24 Gigs of RAM on the server and plenty of spare processor power.

The cobblestone farm was working perfectly fine for a long period of time before I ran off to go find some rubber trees to start a rubber farm. I come back after finishing the farm (mostly) and the cobbles are not forming at all, or at least taking a long long time to do so. The lava is what's taking forever, as water seems to be running in perfect condition.

Oddly enough, if I place lava anywhere else in the server, it seems to flow at it's normal rate, but the moment I put any water in the proper configuration to make a cobble farm, it stops flowing right.

Anyone got any ideas?

I'm having this problem on my server as well.

I am also running on 3.0.4 and i am only running the plugins, NoLag and CommandBook, as with most people in this thread i have plenty of ram and processing power that is not being used.

I also am having this problem. Plenty of RAM and processor on the server and no other lag is present only liquids get funky. Seems to be after I use the "Set time to" buttons.

I'm getting this problem as well, made two different styles of cobble-stone generators, one that had lots of liquids flowing and one generator with 4 water, 1 lava and It's the same result, sometimes takes a couple minutes for the liquids to respond
