Donmon Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Hi, I got a question regarding RedPower: How come this works: And this doesnt: It's really annoying with building traps and such. Does anyone know a solution to this pain in the ass? Quote
Nethaufer Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Because it isn't providing power to the door itself. If it works anything like normal redstone, it needs to touch the block on the base of the door. Or something like that. Quote
Donmon Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 But there must be a way to open my doors without having the wire everywhere on the ground? Quote
Jay? Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 But there must be a way to open my doors without having the wire everywhere on the ground? You could wire things (and compact your wiring this way) by sending the signal to wireless redstone blocks, and put your doors ON those wireless redstone blocks. Quote
Nethaufer Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Well, you could have it so the wire is going underneath the wall next to the door. Or, you could have the wall three blocks thick, with a space in-between and wire it up to the base like that. Once again, connecting to the block underneath the door. Not all that skilled with how Redstone works myself, but I think that's the surefire way to get it to work. Also, try flipping the doors around, so that they are flush with the outside wall. Maybe that will work. Then again, maybe not. Quote
perpetualgamer Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 at the end of those cables replace the jacketed cable with normal red wire cable, let me know if that works. Quote
Donmon Posted May 25, 2012 Author Posted May 25, 2012 Okay! I'll read some stuff on wireless redstone. Anyone having some good articels about it lying around? Quote
Nethaufer Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Here's the link to a wiki page regarding wireless redstone: http://technicpack.wikia.com/wiki/Wireless_Redstone Give the other suggestions not involving wireless before you try it, it may lead to an easier solution. Quote
saintnicster Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 You can use covers to hide your wiring. Though, I'm unfamiliar with sphax's textures and can't tell what gate you are actually using in the second picture. Quote
Donmon Posted May 26, 2012 Author Posted May 26, 2012 The 1st one is a XOR. the 2nd (the one on only one wire) is a NOT. Quote
Donmon Posted May 26, 2012 Author Posted May 26, 2012 at the end of those cables replace the jacketed cable with normal red wire cable, let me know if that works. This man gave the final breakthrough, thank you! Quote
