Really weird world generation- Endless Plains

Question

Posted

Launcher/pack Version:Tekkit v3.04

os: linux CentOS 5 64bit

java: JRE 7u1(i guess it is 64 bit)

Description of Problem: It generates a 16x16 chunk fine on first generation, but after that, its just an endless plain

Error Messages:

doesnt show up anymore, but i had that

2012-06-06 20:28:32 [iNFO] Skipping TileEntity with id tctcrystalore

Link to pastebin of log: http://pastebin.com/SUKRgTbn

the 3 first pics are related to this

It happens on every single world i generate, which is kinda annoying. I removed tekkit to see if it was the minecraft server jar that was doing it and it wasnt. I tried reinstalling tekkit and still no success.

I tried the 3.0.3 jar but it gave me an id error for the same block(@different addresses)

That error seems to be ThaumCraft related (I'd guess), which is odd because ThaumCraft isn't in Tekkit. I'd make sure you have the correct .jar in your hosted folder.

Give us the seed, perhaps?

I'm gonna bring Linux up and try replicating this

it does it on every world generated whit the original minecraft terrain generation

Needs checking:

Installing tekkit by just renaming the Tekkit.jar into craftbukkit.jar .I had this problem since i migrated servers, and i couldnt install tekkit by running launch.bat , so the only way i found was by renaming the tekkit.jar into craftbukkit.jar

Now that i think about it, it amkes a nice survival map. Just like the desert map, but instead of having to find oasises, you need to find villages(trees dont grow in plains)

I can also verify i am having the same problem the host i am using is beastnode which i belive is linux and i also running mutiverse so you are not the only one to have this problem. Seems to work when i take off mutiverse and i can also confirm that i also get the error

Placed stronghold in INVALID biome

but i don't really have more info than that this is the only place that i have seen that someone else has the same problem. i am currently downloading the sever to test if the bug also happens on windows and will see if i can get a error on the log to provide more info. if anyone can help just let me know what info you need and i can get it.

no the problem is not the os it also applys to Windows as well. Seems to be the combination of Tekkit and Mutiverse. What i have done is render maps off the sever using World Boarder fill command then upload back to the sever to work around this problem. there are no additional errors to what has previously been posted.

it seems to be a simular problem with all multiworld plugins, ive tried World Portal and Multiverse to no evail. Restarting and going back to one map solved it for myself :(

the strongholds in invalid biome is typical. That usually happens on map generation. As for the rest, no clue. Sorry.

you're saying that like this "error" is insignificant, but it is instead the key to the problem, because the bug happens right when these lines appear in the console

It's not an error though. This happens almost any time a map is generated. Vanilla, Tekkit, etc, all of these have this. It's *not* an error. The stronghold is merely placed before biomes are determined. :)

but it has a connection to the endless plains, since it happens at the same time the stronghold-info appears
