  1. Already searched for hidden folders, tried the run prompt before.

As I said, no suggestions for how to search the hard drive, I'm just utterly baffled as to how this thing is running.

  2. So there I was trying to load up an old save recovered from my poor old broken hard drive into my shiny new one, when I failed to locate where the .techniclauncher folder was. Now here's the weird thing. I have no AppData folder. At all. Anywhere.

After searching the entire hard drive, which took about 10 minutes, absolutely bugger all was uncovered. So, any suggestions as to where on earth Technic has been installed to?

(Do not give me suggestions as to how to search my hard drive)

  3. Just a few suggestions -

'Glacier' - cool fractal looking mountains with lots of floating objects too

'Kathmandu' - generates a single long island, with a tall hill at one end. Jungle biome in 1.2.5

Or, if you don't mind, try heading here for some super groovy maps. Some of them even do the new ores, but RP trees often ruin everything

Also a note for everyone submitting a seed because there was 'a epic millenaire village', do not bother, as these villages do not rely on seeds for their spawning, and it's unlikely the same village will appear, if at all.

  4. Pretty much as the subject.

My idea is to have ores spawn roughly as they would do in real life - for instance coal would occur in sheets, and have natural caves with lots of flowing water in them. Iron/copper/tin would be roughly scattered in plains biomes, and therefore quarrying or strip mining would be the most efficient way to gather them. Gold and silver would sit on river beds and under mountains, and diamonds would spawn along the walls of a cave within a mountain (so actually at ground level)

Would editing minecraft's terrain generation manage this, and where would I begin to mess around with all the code?

  5. Is it any different to what has been done with perhaps the book on the enchanting table and the end-crystalthings, or do they work differently as they are not 'static' entities?

I see what you are trying to do, but java is just the wrong damn language. If someone were to, I dunno, spend all of half an hour moving it to C++... (not me, someone else, digging up link now).

  6. Back in the days when I ran a server, I did have a plugin that did that. I think it was risugami's but I shan't check that.

Alternatively you can use NEI and manually pick them up and replace them (or spawn them in)

If you actually want the world to generate dungeons with, say, blazes in... pass. I don't know.

  7. All right, I have begun writing the script and screenplay for the pilot, but here is a plan of what is to come:

    Permanent Roles

Protagonist : Josh (Baker) - dragged into the conflict when his oil drilling outpost is ruthlessly attacked during a community meeting, meaning he is the sole survivor.

Lead : Sergeant Matvey (Matt) Harper - In charge of a seemingly hopeless band of Technician army misfits. However, the inclusion of the tag along Baker has perhaps changed things for the better.

Support : Andrei Bertolic - Second in command, and takes super good care of his blunderbuss. Is not a fan of Baker in the slightest.

: Kevin Beaulieu - Medic/Engineer, the nerd to end all nerds, but a good people person nonetheless.

: Neil (Joker) Pilgrim - Sniper, the funny guy and misogynistic arsehole, quick to remind everyone how screwed they all are.

: Commander Sparks - the boss dude. Spent a bit too long in the field, and is always the first to dismiss Matt's crazy plans.

: Lieutenant Boone - the comms guy, heavily sarcastic and unsupportive of those in the field.

    Plot Summaries

    Episode 1 - Pilot

Josh Baker is caught up in an age old war between the Technicians and the mysterious Alchemists. The sole survivor from an attack on his hometown, he follows a misfit squad of Technician troops towards the frontline, where he can catch a train to safety. But the roads are by no means safe, and the war is everywhere.

    Episode 2 - Hitting Bedrock

Much to the resentment of his new squadmates, Baker must follow Matt on a mission to protect a team of engineers building a secret railroad underground. Upon hitting a series of abandoned mines, the dark soon becomes the bottom of the list of things to worry about...

    Episode 3 - Eugenius, Eugenics

Sent to support the team protecting a general's visit to a bio-tech lab close to the front line, Matt and Baker soon discover that the seeds of destruction are amongst many other things being planted at this surreal facility.

    Episode 4 - The Hunt

While on patrol, Matt's team discover a community swimming in diamonds. Although they are sitting on a rich deposit of the shining minerals, a faction within the community is beginning to ask questions as to where the clan leaders new wealth is coming from...
