  1. Oh. My. God! Best thread ever! Best Post ever! Best Avatar Ever!

It can't get any better than this.

Is there such thing as 'High Quality' low quality posting?

Anywho, screw having a burger prepared in five minutes, when I can have any curry I want at the Rose of Bengal just down the road in ten. And I live in the middle of bloddy nowhere. And they have all the funky import beers.

  2. Why does it need to be in the launcher? It's not exactly a complex install. Since there are very few things that can be installed alongside it, that's really all you'd be playing anyways.

Just wait until the launcher supports custom packs and set it up yourself.

As much as custom packs are kewl and all, I am for standardisation. If tekkit were not to exist at all, many servers would not exist or be unaccesible to a large portion of people who didn't have the exact set of required mods. Which in turn is my main motivation for disdain for Segnir/Flowerchild's hide from the internet strategy (This can of worms is still closed).

Not only would including it in the launcher be in Bioxx's interests, by bringing support (and potentially income) to him, and to the players; but it would be favourable to you too, due to increased outside influence from players that otherwise might have missed the launcher from their radars.

Forge and the Launcher have the potential to be some seriously powerful tools, due to the standardisation element. Who knows, you could end up with official endorsement, and replace the regular Minecraft launcher entirely.

  3. As much as OP made a horrible effort, this is a pack definitely worthy of making an appearance inside the launcher.

The premise of the mod is to make survival mode much more challenging from the start, and even throughout the course of the game.

It is firmly grounded in realism, for instance leaves drop sticks when broken, and flint can be picked up off the ground. It is from these that you make your first tools.

Tools are required to be researched in an innovative system of paper and ink.

There are loads of different trees, all with unique properties and supplying their own wood.

Dozens of new ores and minerals add a new asthetic touch as well as enhancing recipes through an expanded crafting grid.

New types of stone, generated in a more realistic and beautiful terrain generation gives more to those who like their asthetics, but help locate ores

Anvils, Forge, Bloomery and Scribing Tables flesh out your workshop.

And things are even more unforgiving... caves can even collapse on top of you if you mine them out without supporting them first...

This mod has been given so much thought. It works similarly to BTW mod in the progression of Steve's time in Minecraftia, but doesn't get ahead of itself in any way. It's an absolute blast to play.

This mod thoroughly deserves to have more recognition by being included in the launcher.

EDIT : Check out what's in it, and what's planned for the future here -->http://www.terrafirmacraft.com/wiki/Main_Page

  4. Heyo!

I thought I'd throw myself into the mix, as I have far too much time these days...

I currently play on a fairly naff laptop, so hosting and recording is out of the question, but I have other ways to add to anyone's videos.

I'm told I'm a pretty funny guy, but I also have a chip on my shoulder. If you're looking for some witty and intelligent banter then look no further.

Also, I am good at using redpower tools and logic, although I have yet to play around with the PR5 stuff, as I'm waiting for it to reach the Rec. Build.

I'm a 17 year old professional freeloader from the UK, and available to play almost whenever. Hope to hear from someone soon. >D

  5. Same here. Fix was to delete the char from the server.

I don't see how the char chat could affect anything. Having the entire top layer of blocks turn into a portal perhaps is more likely. I remember flying mods had huge problems when the nether was first implemented. I'm looking into what changes they made now. If nothing useful happens, I can't really be bothered to decompile the whole damn thing for the sake of a 'secret'. I'd just wait until they announce it in a proper stable release.

  6. i have also had this problem im trying to install mine little pony, reis minimap and optifine but when i install them it says the instal is corupt and redownloads vanilla

Whut. You already have two of them, and Mine Little Pony only has one class file and one config file. Just stick to having stuff handed to you from now on. And be grateful.

  7. Get me a video of this please.

Screenshots were on my desktop that went all anus and blew up the boot sector on my hard drive. Trying to recover the data then blew up my motherboard. I blame this entirely on Ridgedog.

I've had to do with playing Minecraft and Tribes Ascend on a shitty school laptop. The GPU is actually better than my desktop, but I'm minging around with a 1.6 dual core processor >.<

  8. Technic is getting rather full... although I hear there's API's in the works that could solve evarything evar.

At the moment DotMW has too many blocks, and Flan's stuph has too many sprites. And THX looks kinda naff.

Can you think of anything worth getting rid of to make room? Thought not.

Oh, and don't sign your posts. We know who you are.

EDIT : On second thoughts, Flan's stuph would make an excellent replacement to Balkon's medieval nonsense.

  9. Addendum to step 3

    Step 3) Whinge incessantly.

Step 4) Ignore all reasonable advice.

Step 5) Enjoy your nice new pink/purple name.

What mods were you thinking of adding? There's really not a lot of room for cool new stuff. I reckon there's about 20 block ID's and 40 item sprites from a rough count just now. And anyway, there may well be new stuff being added to the new tekkit/technic that'll further complicate things.

  10. Technic Forums is pretty much unique.

It's world class in the way it deals with spammers and general muppets who make senseless posts

As essentially a tech support forum, it never fails to deliver. Unless the report is shite in which case I refer you to point one.

And it operates infinitely smoothly, what with an excellent set of staff and a few tweaks that make things so much easier. (No signatures and the ruthless probation are good examples)

I'm happy to hang around here, and have a laugh.

I also plan to turn The Whale Box into a novel. But not until Cheap Shot tells me (in private if necessary) what it actually means.
