  1. Re: Notch has an..................interesting sense of humor Ah, no. Common Not-so-common misconception. That's called an aposiopesis.
  2. HEYO! If you wanted to be a part of something and get your voice on the internet, but didn't want to record or host, here's your chance. Get in here, and let's make this awesome! http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,9885.0.html
  3. And therefore your portals are buggered. Use the trade-o-mat, or pipes in the middle somewhere. EDIT : Actually he's not wrong, due to the new API, things like thaumcraft will have to become SMP compatible. Although I forsee zeppelin mod taking sharp objects up the butt with this one. I assumed that would never be in SMP, due to the spaghetti mess of code needed to make it work.
  4. No. However if you do find one, you can use nei to take it off creative mode. Or join a server.
  5. Yes, you could say that. But we don't know what it means. I'm sure Kaker could go busking if it was really bad.
  6. Re: Notch has an..................interesting sense of humor I just want to clear up that an ellipsis is a set of three dots used to trail off the end of a sentence, and an elipse is that fucking graph that derailed this whole thread.
  7. Well. Just finished the music (here it is if you're interested) Some thoughts have been noted. Tron seems like a nice theme, so I'm going for a blue, metallic but realistic feel. 16x for now though. This is my first pack.
  8. Ren and Stimpy fucking creeps me out. I could never watch a whole episode.
  9. Ugh... gonna need to leave it on the sideline. Got a shed load of music to do :/
  10. On reflection, 'super groovy' was not a good choice of phrase. 'Different' would have been more appropriate, but I couldn't think of anything with a bit more panache, and still can't. I need some sleep. :/ EDIT : Gonna get some screeeeeeeeenshots up in the mornin'
  11. CONGRATULATIONS!!! You are using a nasty piece of SPYWARE/ADWARE as your antivirus software. It just so happens that this is also stopping the launcher from running properly Go and get Spybot Search&Destroy, run a scan, get rid of bullguard and get something less anal. Microsoft Security Essentials for free, or MBAM for money. Happy hunting.
  12. What on earth did you install both for, you silly plonker >/)< Check what 'bit' your operating system is on, go grab the appropriate Java version after cleaning out the muck, just use the good 'ol .exe launcher and report back here, private.
  13. Re: Notch has an..................interesting sense of humor This thread has an acute lack of ellipses..............
  14. What I do is what I want, and what you fear is not what I plan to do. My main question is until I start putting out some test images for this sometime tomorrow is do people actually want a more modern/futuristic approach to things? EDIT : I'm not thinking of '1950's Buck Rogers style space nonsense' futuristic. More 'Deus-Ex/That film with Tom Cruise that was awesome that had cool stuff' style. Just on the edge of futuristic, but addresses the standardisation issue like all the other packs do. EDIT2 : Minority Report?
  15. So after having a mooch around to see what's up in the world of technic texturepacks, there was one clear cut constant. Virtually all the popular ones (Sphax/SMPRevival/Dokucraft) are sorta steampunk orintated. Is there any point in me making something super groovy and slightly futuristic? I was thinking of something clean and metallic, but that would still be workable in the surrounding landscape. Also, all mods would be retextured to the same colour pallete. Unique, but similar.
  16. I have a photo somwhere of a three feet long and one foot wide sausage roll I made :3 We ate the whole damn thing.
  17. Aye, that I did. But that thread derailed somewhat.
  18. I'm a poet and I didn't know it... arse.
  19. Hey everyone, have a podcast on me. Now, when you click on the link, do not be alarmed. This may be run by bronies, but it certainly ain't about ponies. So, here http://forums.rainbowdash.com/index.php/topic,440.0.html We've just finished our pilot, so excuse the bumpy ride! We're still looking for more awesome questions, and recording once again this sunday, and expect things to get better and better as the weeks go on. Enjoy!
  20. I know! I use it to alleviate stress from exams.
  21. Technic Forums! Now in sideways edition! I'd say this is almost as pointless as this.
  22. Is there such thing as 'High Quality' low quality posting? Anywho, screw having a burger prepared in five minutes, when I can have any curry I want at the Rose of Bengal just down the road in ten. And I live in the middle of bloddy nowhere. And they have all the funky import beers.
  23. For those of you in the know, the Heart Attack Grill in New York has claimed another victim. After eating the 'Triple Bypass Burger' I knew portion sizes in America were huge compared to the UK, but this is fucking ridiculous now. Four deaths in two years... in the same damn restaurant.
  24. As much as custom packs are kewl and all, I am for standardisation. If tekkit were not to exist at all, many servers would not exist or be unaccesible to a large portion of people who didn't have the exact set of required mods. Which in turn is my main motivation for disdain for Segnir/Flowerchild's hide from the internet strategy (This can of worms is still closed). Not only would including it in the launcher be in Bioxx's interests, by bringing support (and potentially income) to him, and to the players; but it would be favourable to you too, due to increased outside influence from players that otherwise might have missed the launcher from their radars. Forge and the Launcher have the potential to be some seriously powerful tools, due to the standardisation element. Who knows, you could end up with official endorsement, and replace the regular Minecraft launcher entirely.
  25. As much as OP made a horrible effort, this is a pack definitely worthy of making an appearance inside the launcher. The premise of the mod is to make survival mode much more challenging from the start, and even throughout the course of the game. It is firmly grounded in realism, for instance leaves drop sticks when broken, and flint can be picked up off the ground. It is from these that you make your first tools. Tools are required to be researched in an innovative system of paper and ink. There are loads of different trees, all with unique properties and supplying their own wood. Dozens of new ores and minerals add a new asthetic touch as well as enhancing recipes through an expanded crafting grid. New types of stone, generated in a more realistic and beautiful terrain generation gives more to those who like their asthetics, but help locate ores Anvils, Forge, Bloomery and Scribing Tables flesh out your workshop. And things are even more unforgiving... caves can even collapse on top of you if you mine them out without supporting them first... This mod has been given so much thought. It works similarly to BTW mod in the progression of Steve's time in Minecraftia, but doesn't get ahead of itself in any way. It's an absolute blast to play. This mod thoroughly deserves to have more recognition by being included in the launcher. EDIT : Check out what's in it, and what's planned for the future here -->http://www.terrafirmacraft.com/wiki/Main_Page
