WRONG. Have you SEEN the mess in that mod? I still can't work out what the hell he's doing. I understand that the craft you see is 'fake', and what you are walking on is an invisible and constantly updating platform, but how he rotates the whole structure is beyond me, and he himself admitted it was unlikely he'd get it to SMP any time soon.

This has gotta have mod support. However knowing them, there will be a 'MODS' tab that will dump everything in one incoherent heap.

Problem is, the chances of this or Zeppelin mod entering SMP is very slim. I find that a problem because I do nothing else, by the way. And yeah, not being part of Forge was silly. And this mod has no uses in the Technic environment, as there is no way he can add support for machines. I would be damned impressed if he even got half blocks to stick to those. Other than that it's an impressive piece of fluff.

No. It is far from epic. Custom parts isn't quite cutting it, what with VAT and all, plus very little in the way of insurance. So the thing in teh original post is still pwning performance wise.

Yeah, problem is neither Zeppelin, Airships or Mo Creatures will go on your server; they aren't SMP. However, if what you want is modloader compatible, you can drop it in the folder no problem. If it's not, then there are helpful guides around to steer you in the right direction. Problem is, everyone who you want to play on your server will have to make exactly the same changes you did. Think about that, then be happy with what you have. Or take some inspiration from some servers advertising here, and make your own addons pack with installer.

If anyone hasn't seen the angry letter to mojang back in 1.8, you should. However, why should Mojang not implement the best ideas from the community in order to manufacture the vanilla experience they envision? It's not as if they are 'ripping off' mods willy nilly because they like them; pistons, ender chests, caveman squidwards and the like all fit perfectly in the vanilla universe, and nothing would be the same without them. Every now and then, something from the community can creep into the vanilla game, and ender chests are a logical step forward, as Mojang seems to be fleshing out the later stages of the game with more expensive stuff.

Odd that this forum is the only one that has gone on about my family and the money itself >D The money involved is 100% mine, but there are numerous banking issues involved that stops me from just buying stuff myself due to a complete balls up with my account activation that will take months to solve. So therefore that money will have to go in my parents' account(s) in order for any payments to be made. That is why they can stop me from buying a super incredible computer because they think the nonsense at PC World is better, and they control my money almost exclusively for the time being. I could build the rig myself, but for some insane reason the ones others have found elsewhere are actually cheaper than buying individually. And have at least three years parts and maintenance on top of that.

I haven't had any exposure to FC, just going with what I know. I'm gonna go drink some gasoline and go to bed, and see whether I can get my tangential point across tomorrow.

The entire modding community is slowly becoming a pissing contest. I'm not opposed to mod authors creating mods for the attention (bad phrase, I'm tired) on principle, but too many are beginning to compete against one another. Eloraam has a right to a lot of the pie, what with the devotion put into the project, but there is such thing as too much. The lack of block-ids used in RedPower has got to cause problems somewhere in the line, and is probably one of the main reasons FC couldn't stand working with Forge anymore. Conversely, FC withdrawing from forge/technic is somewhat selfpromoting, as it reinforces the fanbase and increases independant identity. Is it a good thing in the grand scheme of things? No. You heard it here first, and mark my words, the modding community will be the end of minecraft by the time the year is out.
