You could set up a server just for his friends, but multiverse doesnt seem to work too great with tekkit. What do you need help with as far as server'ing goes?

hit windows r, type in %appdata% go to technic, go to tekkit lite, go to mods, delete iron chests on server go to mods and delete iron chests.

SHIT. You have ducks. You will need to open your computer. You will need to reset your cooling northbridge ram chipset in order to get rid of the ducks virus. unplug the wire leading from your fan to motherboard. Turn on your computer, and leave it on overnight calculating pi. The ducks virus will get overwhelmed and will be defeated. An alternative fix is to remove your hard drive, and remove the 2;nd pin from the left with pliers. This is the pin that the ducks virus invades with. It is useless, and is a ground pin. Use the 1.4.7 version of tekkit lite

Looks like a null pointer with iron chests. remove iron chests from your tekkit install and the server

For a world just for you play tekkit singleplayer, if you want a world just for you and your son do as I said and create a singleplayer world that can be opened up to LAN. Both of this require 0 effort. When your sons friends play will they be at your house with his laptop or will they be at their homes?

You are using the wrong version of tekkit lite. go to options and select the correct version and redownload. The mc versions should correspond

If you want 1 server only for your son, this is an easy solution: 1. Make sure you are on the same wifi network 2. Start a single-player world 3. Hit escape, press open to lan, then hit start. 4. Have your son click multiplayer, then connect to the lan server.

Bullfish? Those sound bad. Make sure they do not mate with the ducks. That will end badly. you will have bullduckfish. I suggest the use of punnet squares to determine their chance of survival

No. I have been using the launcher with Java 7 for nearly a month. I refuse to downgrade Java, because my modpack requires Java 7. The mac community deserves a real fix rather than a work around.

What new resources? Quartz? Lets just nuke the fucking nether and use nether quartz. Other than that I guess so... but we are halfway done with a mid 1.4.7 build of the modpack. Lets at least get this done before we even look at updating to 1.5. Also Andrew and me are updating some mods and possibly adding new ones to the server. I believe that 1.5 is not coming for a very long time. Resetting the map will piss me off. I am against resetting a map when most of the features a new version offers is already possible via the mods we have. Having to start off from new every 1-2 months sucks. Especially for those of us who can only play on weekends. I for one am completely against resetting the map until a major consensus of players agree. Lets make this like the TBR maps of old. We have only reset because of these two reasons: nuking of world, hurricane corrupting world, switching to a modpack from tekkit, switching to tekkit lite from classic. Until the players want a reset I think we stick with this map. screw 1.5

Somethign is fucked up nuking launcher. I think there may be something wrong, luckily i have copies of all my work I cant open the technic launcher. It wants me to downgrade to java 6. But then the modpack wont work. Ive nuked everything. Fuck.
