I'm not sure the food effect (if there is one), but they're used in making Night Vision Potions.

not all mods have loaded, after the update
Torezu replied to lewis8777's question in Technic Launcher
This is not an error. Metadata is just extra data for NEI to use, and that displayed message is completely normal. Also, this is in the wrong place. -
Launcher opens tekkit window with a white screen
Torezu replied to MuddyPiggy's question in Technic Launcher
Is there anything in .techniclauncher\logs? -
We need to see the actual message. It's most likely that your copy of AVG is interfering with the launcher's operation, though.
-
You mean the Tekkit Bug Board? This one's for the launcher specifically.
-
Jatie1: Copy your resources folder from your .minecraft folder to your .techniclauncher\modpack folder.
-
Try the forum section made specifically for texture packs.

Yes. The normal client is...quite small, maybe a few MB installed, unless the sounds take up more than I think they do. Tekkit is still fairly small as modern games go, being only about 70-75MB for the client. However, Tekkit save files can add up fairly quickly - the world on my server, for example, is over 400MB and growing.

Find a decent open swamp, and bricks aren't hard to come up with. The bottoms of rivers are also perfectly acceptable places. Otherwise, stone brick, marble brick (less Victorian, that), or basalt brick are perfectly acceptable aesthetic factory blocks.

So, you posted in the right section at first, but missed the thread at the top of the section. Then I told you about it, so you posted in the wrong section? What the heck?

With proper AV/spam/malware protection, and port-forwarding through a router, risks are minimal. How would your computer be damaged unless you're running the server all the time with insufficient cooling or something? I would not recommend using a wireless connection to run a server, as they are inherently slower and less stable. It's possible, but not recommended. Also, you're in the wrong section.

Tekkit does not require permission to make any related films. The publicity is somewhat appreciated, though you might find yourself the target of some people that still believe Technic/Tekkit are "thieves" or whatever.
-
This thread doesn't belong here. If you have a server, and you want people to play on it, post a server ad. If you're on a server, and you want people to play with you, recruit inside the server, or help the server owner recruit so you can use those people - just don't do it here. If you want just a few people (not likely, looking at your post), there's a thread for that.

WHEN I TRY TO RUN TECHNIC FROM THE SAVE/RUN BAR IT WONT RUN
Torezu replied to BRIMW234's question in Technic Launcher
I like the SLIMELINE thing too, that was funny. It's like SNAILTRAIL, or something. -
Don't threadjack - it's not nice. OP: See if you have a launcher log. That Java error looks like it originates with a video card .dll, so you could also try updating your video drivers.

How does a week and a half count as almost 3? And what have you done in the meantime to try to fix it? Anything from the Common Problems and Solutions thread?
-
Try to open TechnicLauncher, get an error message.
Torezu replied to Moze's question in Technic Launcher
There's something floating around the forums about re-prioritizing Java to fix this. I don't have a Mac, or I might have a clearer answer for you, but you should be able to find something with the search bar. -
Delete .techniclauncher\[mod_pack]\bin\natives\OpenAL32.dll and OpenAL64.dll - that should fix your problem, hopefully permanently. Next time, please post this in a mod pack section.
-
You need a new version of the launcher. You may or may not have to reinstall your mod pack(s). Make backups, of course.
-
That error number is almost always associated with not having the .NET Framework installed, or it being broken. Go here, download 3.5 with SP1, and install/repair your .NET Framework.
-
Just because it says "latest" in the file name doesn't mean it is. Try getting a new launcher. Also, if you firmly believe Macs have an "auto" antivirus, you're in for a rude shock.

My Technic Launcher will not connect to Minecraft.net
Torezu replied to RoryMyers's question in Technic Launcher
If this happens to you, try the vanilla Minecraft login and see if it works (yes, that will mean running vanilla Minecraft). If that doesn't work, the minecraft.net auth servers are down, and you won't be able to play either in online mode until they're back up. If normal Minecraft works and the launcher doesn't, try getting a new launcher (not reinstalling, just a new launcher file). -
Do we have to do everything for you?
