Cobblestone is the fastest and most reliable way to get all research, except for the Crystal Bell and Brain in a Jar which require the research of a crystal and a zombie brain respectively. Due to the failure rates, I use my exceptional artifacts for getting these 2. You can run a quarry, go exploring, etc and have 3 piles (64 per Q block if you don't set up a auto resupply system, which is kind of unnecessary) of research done when you wake up/return. (This is also a very cheap and cheesy way of doing it, but eh research is tedious as bull)

Yeah, um riiight. Could you make any valid statements to back up anything in your post? You are aware that the only people using BTW are kids that cant figure out how to solve their own block id conflicts or people that like over pretentious dribble poured right down their throat. The thing is, this is not a competition. They aren't competing in a modlympics, or playing elimination deathmatch. Eloram adding things to RP2 that fits in with her vision doesn't hurt other mods. Its not like she is adding forestry machines and IC2 tools to RP 2 anytime soon. IC2, buildcraft and forestry, Red Power 2. Yes, these mods are the driving force behind Forge. To say that hooks were invented solely because of RP 2 would be a lie. And if it weren't for these good folks innovating the field, mods like Thaumcraft 2 would never have been possible. Modding communities don't work like businesses, they are here first and foremost to create the mod they like and have it work the way they like to improve their gaming expereince. "Eloram raising the bar" doesn't really mean much, Forge updates wont render mods obsolete. Just the opposite really, as recent additions to forge allowed even BiomesXL to go from a base class jar mod that breaks everything to a forge mod that plays nice® with everything. You may wish to blot out everything you heard from FC and watch slowpoke101 (the guy behind Feed the beast) stream every once in a while. Or go watch Direwolfs FTB with the devs series. You will see Eloram in person, alongside Pahimar (EE2) and others. FC is the ostracized sob that nobody likes, where as most of the other major mod devs get along well and communicate freely with each other. Pretty much, don't let anything from FC or his cadre of moron followers sour your view of Elo and the rest of the modding community.

Are you aware that FlowerChild, the author of BTW hates Eloram? He withdrew BTW from forge because he did not like how Forge was adding hooks that allowed Red Power to do things,. which is somewhat full retard since these hooks were one of the primary reasons forge was created. That said, just because mods draw inspiration from each other does not mean they are copying/stealing from each other. Eloram, the IC2 devs and the buildcraft devs are a jolly group that openly communicate with each other and share code. I do like your "no trolls" line in your opening post though, considering this topic is guaranteed to devolve into flamethrowers (as it always does).

Ah, I don't know anything about the text editor(s) on Linux. That said, we really can't give you any pointers to the problem without a proper error message log.

I tried watching NearbyGamer's lp once. The guy doesn't even understand 1/2 of the mods he is using and is bad at minecraft in general. Seriously, makes a sword then doesn't have it on his hot bar. Then fights monsters by punching them and running around screaming like a 5yr old girl [then dieing] when any decent MC player would have tacked down a block or 3, opened their inventory equipped the sword and killed everything no issue. I understand that he is popular with the younger crowd of minecraft gamers, but that is because he acts like a child either be it on purpose or because well, exactly.

Would really need more information to figure out whats up, but rp doesn't use block 240 normally. You aren't using normal notepad to edit the rp2 config file are you? Because that breaks it.

Well, Optifine seems to have been the culprit. Re-installed my base mods with exception of optifine and everything is working again. Optifine seems to be rather hit and miss these days. Though why it played nice for a whole day then went fubar is beyond me.

(Not posting in the bug forums because this isn't Technic related.) Everything was working perfectly yesterday for a good 10 hours [binging on MC on your day off from work, bad habits meh], then I noticed a serious graphical glitch (on inventory screen my character view was completely bugged out like a mixed up texture pack). (current game) (bug carries over to new worlds) Far as I can tell, none of my mods are causing this glitch to occur (and they ran just fine for 10 hours yesterday). And I've crashed out of MC 3 more times like above error message. Also, can someone link me to that error logging tool I've seen mentioned before. It would be appreciated. All i did before the 10 hour binge was update thaumcraft from v2.1.3b to v2.1.4 (current) and install OptiFine HD A7 Multi-Core + AA. Before that I was playing with everything else just fine for over a week.

Well, that is because translators like google translate on a per word basis not the meaning of a phrase or an entire sentence. Of course, this also means that anyone fluent in the murdered/garbled language can still understand the jist of the sentence. Kind of like you can type "Cna uoy nuderstnda tsih" and almost anyone with a decent fluency in English will see "Can you understand this". There was this website, that ran a sentence through like 20 machine translations and always returned something completely different. But i'll be dammed if I can remember something when I want to.

According to steam, I played ESV for about 225 hours before I finished the main quest. Funny thing is, I never completed the main quest in ESIII. But yeah, most of the good EV5 story lines are side quests. Thieves guild, Assassins guild (best quest line in an elder scrolls game to date, in my opinion) and certain daedric quests. Then again, yes that xbox crap annoys me. I pre-ordered Skyrim at full price, now wheres my satisfaction Bethesda?
