  1. Well, for when you're building a PC yourself, PCpartpicker.com has a compatibility/dimensions check, so maybe you aren't guaranteed to have no problems, you can still be very sure. The risk is worth it imo to avoid the markup. And I'm pretty sure Acer checks all of their dimensions as well.
  2. That is pretty good. That i5 and 970 are well balanced which is all too rare for a prebuilt, even gaming ones. The 970 is very powerful (although DX12 won't be as good for current Nvidia cards as it will for AMD's, but widespread DX12 adoption is still several years off anyhow) aside from the obligatory 3.5 out of 4. I say go for it. That's terrible. Definitely not a better deal. It may have a hexa-core i7, which is good although definitely overkill for gaming, but it comes with a GTX950. Definitely very poorly balanced, and not favorable for games at all. And on top of that it comes with only a SSD with no additional HDD, there's no Wireless Internet, no monitor, and not even Windows. Adding all the options to match the Acer brings the total to 2120.70€.
  3. So is anyone here good with codes? What does QmlnIFJlYWN0b3JzLCBTb2xhciBGbHV4IGFuZCBaZXR0YSBJbmR1c3RyaWVz mean?
  4. Oh ok neat. Hmm Well I'm stumped. EDIT So what is Zetta Industries? I've found the Github, but there's no information written about it.
  5. So is that an actual encrypted teaser, or did you just make that up?
  6. Yeah definitely go for a 970 then, it's really quite a jump over the 960, and (nearly, lol) double the vRAM. I can imagine only 2GB being a limitation not too far in the future.
  7. The 380 is the clear winner over the 960 at your resolution, but Nvidia is a requirement because you're going to be using it as an external GPU for your laptop, correct? Although, the gap between a 960 and a 970 is pretty big. If you can get it, I'd go for the 970.
  8. I don't really see what the problem is with this "spying" data collection/telemetry. I don't delude myself into thinking I'm important enough for someone to want to look at my files. Overall I'm liking Windows 10, I'm a fan of Edge and the visual changes. I've had only one hiccup with the audio drivers on my laptop, which pretty much solved itself. I didn't even have to reinstall my GPU driver on my desktop.
  9. Guys my door won't open. It's frozen shut. Guys?
  10. 100 megabytes!?! I'm surprised that can even run Windows!
  11. Reportedly there are performance gains in addition to DirectX 12. Plus it look prettier.
  12. Oh, you saw that? Good. I didn't think it had gone through, the report window wasn't loading properly. Intel wins easily in single-threaded performance, AMD is better value and offer more cores for less price. So it depends on what you plan on doing with the computer, if it's mainly games for example go Intel.
  13. That's pretty impressive. I've only seen up to 4 colors per pen before. Moar train stuff: I got a new locomotive off of ebay. And here's a picture of all my locomotives side by side. http://imgur.com/sFSM2VX My new GPU came in as well. I ended up getting a MSI 390.
  14. Yeah, that's been done before, but it wouldn't be practical in my case. It's way too dark down there for any plants to grow well. Besides, they'd be out of scale. Real miniature cacti barely fit in HO scale, and I'm in N, which is half the size.
  15. eeeeh I'm not sure about that. Also, Hobby Lobby has a terrible selection of model trains. They have barely anything. They used to have more, and the display slowly shrank from both sides of an aisle, to now less than one. Hmph.
  16. I know how you feel, I spent nearly 10 years of my life staring at all this cool stuff other people had in my Model Railroader magazines.
  17. I'm in a good spot right now, young enough to live with my parents and build in their nice big basement, and old enough to get a summer job to pay for all this stuff I have to buy.
  18. Check it out guys, I finally got off my butt and started building my model railroad.
  19. I no longer have a GPU. My computer exhaust is so nice and cool, I'll almost be sad when I get a new card.
  20. Holy crap. I paid the $6 to get into the TF2 contracts update event, and I just completed a contract and received a case. I sold it for $7.
  21. I suspected as much. I was wondering if we knew anything more.
  22. Are you actually though? Or was that for the sake of the pun.
