They do, but there are ways around it. Other than rebooting on motion, computers are fully compatible. What I'd do is add to the startup program. The computer could listen over the wireless network for orders from a server that would keep track of the elevators position relative to the destination.

This isn't viable because the vast majority of modpacks are distributed as a sealed .zip which the platform can't look inside of.

Tekkit Classic was good, and is still fun to go back to once in a while, but Tekkit is better by far. There's more to do and water fixes itself when you fill buckets out of rivers and oceans.
