  1. ..... The download files are literally in the download section... http://www.technicpack.net/hexxit# -- Go to download. If you haven't had a server before, then look up a tutorial on youtube on how to make a regular Tekkit/Tekkit Lite server as it's all the same. Port forwarding, giving friends IP, start up the server, let it generate stuff, etc. Your question is too generic.
  2. The modpack just came out. Play on default until a texture pack/patch is made for it... sheesh.
  3. CanVox I'd just like to award you with this medal of honor for your value and effort in the battlefield.... Dear god these people... As for Pregenning, I do have a question: How do I pregen?... I'm on a low population private server but I do want to reduce lag.
  4. Okay.. I'd just like to ask why you question lag when you're hosting a server for 100ish people that has mods, people generating chunks everywhere, and just about doing everything? I allocate 6GB to my Hexxit Server for less than 10 people and I get lag. No matter how much RAM you throw at a modpack-ed server, you will probably get lag 99% of the time. It's just how it is. I think this modpack is near perfect. I am only disliking dimensional doors due to MY stupid mistake, which doesn't warrant me disliking it really. I disabled the mod after it was already added in and it made memory/world leaks. Unfortunate. But fixed after a fresh new world and not having the mod. I'm not having any issues with it in this version, though. This modpack also wasn't meant for 50+ people really, as far as I can tell... You know what I've noticed? The more mods you add to a modpack and/or server, the more issues you get. You know what else I noticed? The more people you add along with those mods, the more issues you get. I don't see how you are having crashes from loading just a dungeon, either. Twilight Forest is a laggy mod, why would you expect 50+ people plus that to run smoothly? You shouldn't. I'm just going to keep repeating myself on how there's a fine line between you can't have a lot of "poorly" coded mods and a lot of people going at it at the same time. Falling Meteors? Get a Meteor Shield. Again. The mod was not intended for servers of 50+ so I don't get why you are complaining. Soul Shards? The mod is meant to be exploring DUNGEONS and FIGHTING, not going out to find food. Don't get me wrong i love technic, but please guys i beg of you! Make a pack that is bug free! Test it, fix it up, perfect it. So we are not ripping it apart just to fix things that should have been fixed when we downloaded it. Let me tell you a few things wrong with this. A) A bug free modpack? You're completely out of your mind. You even said yourself. Mods a poorly coded. And the fact that you have 50+ people doesn't help. These guys can't fix "fix" the modpack. They mainly put them together and the mod authors fix their mods. Why do you think redpower isn't in Tekkit? The mod author hasn't updated. They rely on the mod authors the majority of the time. They can squash some bugs. Please.. think too yourself: "Will poorly coded mods combined with other poorly coded mods work with a lot of people on a server where a bunch of mods cause lag even in singleplayer?"
  5. Hexbiscus flowers?... If they are rare, I've yet to encounter them and I've explored quite a bit even in creative. (The moment I get pissed of getting constantly killed means creative get my stuff back mode. ) Do they spawn in the world, dungeons, what? I'm intrigued. I've always preferred the Battle Gear mod for dual wielding and such... Just imagine dual wielded rapiers! (I'm a RuneScape kiddie so that's why it appeals to me. ) But it's discontinued for now and Asgard Shield is apparently pretty good, but I have no idea how to use the dang shields. The thread for it doesn't help. :(
  6. I do not use MCPC. The lag is not a major issue on my server specifically, but if I do it's only because of the modpack's awesomeness I assure you. As for your comment/solution below, I thought about removing that file, but I would have to start a new world and we have an amazing seed, but alas if that is what we must do to try to temporary fix the solution. I'll try that out and tell you what I come up with. Cheers! :)
  7. It worked wonders, but some of the mobs one hit us and since "mini-bosses" spawn randomly but still look like regular mobs, just have a huge health bar, it gets confusing when four people are just in there swinging their swords and everyone dies... Really as it is now, you have to go into dungeons for good loot, but you can't go into dungeons without good loot... Still managed to pick some nice things up. Three staffs, magic boomerang, etc. Really nice stuff. I just wanna know how to get Hexxit/c Essence for my Scale Armor. :)
  8. No extra plugins or mods, so it cannot be that. We've had multiple responses of this issue, so I instantly assume it's not hardware related as the chance more than 3 people have the same hardware configuration is very very unlikely. I have 6GB of RAM allocated to this server. It's not running out of memory and I know it. I've ran multiple instances and get the same response. I've tried multiple worlds. I've asked my friends to try the same things we did on our server in singleplayer and got similar responses. The only difference is that they can spawn him, the Turtle Boss, in but not do anything if he is in a dungeon/Castle. I've actually TRIED stuff, before blaming you... And I'm not blaming anyone in specific. I'm not going to come in here and point fingers like some people do without first doing my own troubleshooting. I know how to run a server. The crash report specifically says these three lines(Not just them): at chocolate.mods.BD.mobs.EntityTurtlePart.func_70097_a(EntityTurtlePart.java:37) at net.minecraft.world.World.func_72866_a(World.java:2342) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.func_71190_q(MinecraftServer.java:654) First line says it's the Entity Turtle, tried finding a way to remove it, but could not. Second line says Minecraft World, tried using multiple worlds in case that was the issue. Nope. Third line says Minecraft Server, restarted the server several times, started fresh on both server files AND modpack files for both me and my users. Nothing. Sorry if I sound like an ass, but I suppose that's how I'm getting my point across.
  9. Hmm.. It seems that the crash really only happens when the chunk with the turtle is either A) Loaded or We're near it(Which is practically the same thing) I really hope this gets addressed.
  10. I do agree with you. Everything seems more difficult. I believe Hexxit was made for multiplayer, honestly. Everything is a lot more difficult, definitely. I've died SO many times already and lost so much stuff, but there's so much loot/ores that losing it isn't much of a problem. I've tried raiding a Walker Castle with FOUR people and we all got owned. We had Frek... I'm not gonna even try to pronounce/spell it... the ice/meteor type armor made of crystals. Still got owned. Diamond armor? Nope. You really have to TRY to be successful. I like it, though. I LOVE a challenge and honestly this is a real challenge, especially when it's with friends. I also hope that the top-notch armor isn't too OP and makes you invincible. I've had so many issues though... My server crashed due to a Turtle Boss and leaves our server unplayable. :(
  11. Nope. We've have several crashes where we don't even touch the turtle. It's near is impossible to play once the issue appears.
  12. Do you mind doing a test for me? Reset your pack (Backup your extra mods) and try in a new world to see if the problem persists. If you still have issues then I honestly have no idea since there really isn't a crash report. Hexxit appears to have quite a few issues on release.
  13. Are there any other mods installed? Such as OptiFine or anything other than the default modpack? This is an odd issue and I've yet to experience it. The only thing I've experienced with being issue related is the server crashing due to a Turtle Boss.
  14. Hmm.. That is REALLY weird and just plain odd... I do notice something, though. You have tukmc, the interface mod, on and it's not in the actual Hexxit modpack I believe, could that be it for some odd reason? @rock; That's tukmc. It's an interface mod, not a texturepack.
  15. Screenshot doesn't work for me.
  16. Yes. I also get these issues. (Hey! We have similar skins! ) It seems that there is very noticeable lag every now and then even with 6GB RAM allocated to my server. On top of this, I noticed that you get the crashing issue with the Turtle Boss from Chocolate what-have-you. These crashes are really rendering the modpack unplayable on multiplayer and I really don't get how they could of let this pass through... With as common as this happens. I understand they put a lot of work into this, but it seems to be a common issue thus far.
  17. Me and my friends were raiding a huge castle/dungeon and we encountered the turtle in a secret pathway after destroying the Walkers at the entrance... We then crashed... The server and everyone with it. I'm looking for a temporary fix by removing the turtle, but I have no idea how I could do so.
