I love the mod, finally makes staying awake at night in MC worth it. As someone new to Meteors I'd like some info on how to get started. Tinkers Construct includes 3 Books that you automatically get to help understanding the mod. Maybe you could do something silimar and drop the player a book with some informations about the meteors and how to use them as soon as the first meteor item is picked up. Another thing I'd like not for myself but because people here posted several threads about it is an easy way to disable meteors in the config or limit their damage. I looked at your config file and it's confusing. Maybe some comments in there would do the trick. Anyway great to have you here and get feedback, more mod authors should do this.

Hello and welcome, you have probably come here because your favourite Minecraft modpack has stopped working. So lets not waste more time and repair the damage. Note: This guide will be expanded over time to cover more problems and solutions. WARNING: A havily modded Minecraft will be more unstable than Vanilla Minecraft. This means you should expect crashes with Hexxit, The Big Dig or Tekkit every few days. I know this is annoying but we cannot solve this here. Please report this in the Bugs Forum. Table of Content 1. Minecraft crashes after a short time of playing - How to allocate more RAM 2. Minecraft freezes on Mojang screen - Resetting the Modpack 3. Minecraft crashes when I join a Server or a specific Singleplayer world but works fine otherwise 4. How to report Crashes that didn't get solved by this guide? 1. Minecraft crashes after a short time of playing - How to allocate more RAM Your Java Machine has probably run out of memory, Minecraft wasn't designed to be played with 50-150 mods active. Thankfully the Technic crew thought of that. To increase the memory Minecraft can use open the Technic Launcher, in the upper right corner click on the gear. This brings up the Launcher Options. If possible increase your Memory a bit, more importantly check the "Increase PermGen Size" box. Then save. (See image below) 2. Minecraft freezes on Mojang screen / Resetting the Modpack Minecraft freezing can happen if your Minecraft is completly overwhelmed by the mods. (See 1. on how to give it more RAM) The other reason this can happen is because some files got corrupted. In this case we need to reset the Modpack. In the Technic Launcher on the left side below the selected mod you will find a little gear, this brings up the Modpack Options, click Reset Modpack, this will delete all files from the Modpack and force a new download the next time you start it. (*)In the unlikely case that this didn't solve the problem open the Launcher Options (see 1.) and go to the path under Increase PermGen Size. This is where the Technic launcher keeps all its files. Find the Folder with the name of your Modpack, delete the folder. The launcher might have problems deleting some files, this is simply the manual way. WARNING: Make a backup of any config files you have or you will loose them and have to configure your stuff in Minecraft again. 3. Minecraft crashes when I join a Server or a specific Singleplayer world but works fine otherwise You should have gotten an Error Log with some x,y,z coordinates of a block or chunk not loading. This is a corrupt block or even chunk and needs to be removed. Download MCEdit and load your level file, find the block or chunk that is causing the problem (it will be very close to your character) and delete it. Save the file and start playing again. If this happens on a Server and you are not the admin talk to the admin to get it fixed. 4. How to report Crashes that didn't get solved by this guide? Don't panic if this guide didn't help you for there is still hope. You can report your error here or in a new thread in the forum. Every crash of Minecraft should produce an crash log. Go to your your "crash-reports" folder under Hexxit, Tekkit or whatever you use. Find the file with the propper date and time. It will be something like "crash-2013-08-17_13.13.49-client". If you don't know where you installed your modpack see the (*) section in "2. Minecraft freezes on Mojang Screen" above. Now open the file and copy & paste the content on http://pastebin.com/ then hit submit. (You do not need to log in.) After that you should see your uploaded file. Copy the URL in the adressbar of your brower (it should look something like http://pastebin.com/xxxxxxx ) Now think what exactly you did that caused the error and describe it in your post, don't write it too long but don't forget important details either. Include the pastebin URL in your post, this will provide some technical information about what happened, so someone should be able to understand the problem and help you. I hope this helps some people, I'll try to cover Crash logs further but taking them apart and helping people understand them is a bit complicated.

Although AM6644's sugestion might work I would recommend you post some more details if you want help. Where exactly does it crash, how does it crash, do you have a crashlog etc.

Have you tried this? http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/lagging-out-or-crashing-on-joining-try-these-steps.46768/

Deleting will work fine remove the Meteors Mod V2.10.2.zip on the server. That way the server doesn't see the mod and doesn't run it. The clients load it but they never get the events to trigger the mod from the server. To summarize: Its only bad if the client is missing mods, if the server is missing some it will simply not show them. No error message, just a few MB of RAM wasted on the clients.

Delete Falling Meteors Mod http://hexxit.wikia.com/wiki/Falling_Meteors_Mod
-
but maybe reduce the Xmx and Xms to half. Might be running out of Memory, thats the only thing I can come up with.
-
Try allocating 2-4GB in the launcher. http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/lagging-out-or-crashing-on-joining-try-these-steps.46768/

If tekkit is working so should Hexxit. Try resetting the pack for Hexxit.

How much RAM does your server have?

I need some help please. (I'm new around here)

Glad to hear. -
Well my server launch settings are "-Xmx1G -Xms512M" it works for 4 players but quickly runs into problems when using multiple World Anchors or similar.

Did you increase the permgensize and RAM allocated? http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/lagging-out-or-crashing-on-joining-try-these-steps.46768/ Thats the last thing I can come up with, if that doesn't do it either you'll have to wait for someone who is more experience with this than I am. -
http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/epic-ore-veins.46877/ how to change the ore spawn rates. The only tip I can give you is "DO BACKUPS!" everything else you'll discover in time and you need to work together with your players to solve those problems. If your players ain't happy they won't play and that makes you a sad and lonely admin.

Hmm ok then check if you have the latest Java version installed, if that also doesn't work delete your BigDig folder, the freeze on Mojang usually comes from corrupt files and while a mod pack reset should fix that I don't trust automated systems 100%. -
New-ish to Tekkit: BigDig. Need advice on a few things.
Thoran replied to Doctordragon's topic in Big Dig Discussion
I have not tried MineChem so far so I can't help you with that but if you want to do something useful with that MJ use it to power giant quarries (they chew up Energy Cells like they are peanuts) and have them dig up all the materials you'll ever need. Also consider playing on a multiplayer server I'm sure someone would appreciate your dedication to running a fuel station for this long. -

Did you try resetting your mod pack? -
My guess is you removed MPS and didn't remove MPSA. Your server is obviously trying to load something from ModularPowersuitsAddons but I can't see ModularPowersuits listed under your -- System Details --
-
Only thing I can think of is if you have the 32bit Java installed. Check that and if so remove it and get the 64bit version.

According to FPS Furry http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/hexxit-crashes-when-joining-a-server.48192/ this is caused by a corrupt item in your inventory. Have the server admin delete your player data file. You loose everything on your character but you should be able to play again.

Reason for crash: corrupt block causing a fail on load for: forestry.arboriculture.items.ItemGermlingGE.getPrimarySpecies(ItemGermlingGE.java:50) Entity's Exact location: -3221.50, 64.00, -1038.50 Solution: Load your Level up in MCEdit http://www.mcedit.net/ and delete the block, save and be happy. PS: That will teach you to puch a flower

I second that. Its been a while since the 1.3.13 update, a lot of bugs were reported, mods were updated. Any feedback would be apreciated.

I'm not familiar with economy plugins in MC as I have always played on the default communistic servers, not capitalistic. Nontheless these plugins look rather nice and he wrote in the comments what the require:
