  1. The unverified program thing is something that was introduced with OS X Mountain Lion, the version before what he has (OS X Mavericks). It's supposed to be some form of security or whatnot, but often times it's just more annoying than anything. I just have it disabled on my Mac, but you can get around it by right-clicking and hitting open rather than double-clicking the file.

When he does that, instead of a message stating that it can't run a program from an unverified developer, he'll get a message asking if he's sure he wants to run a program from an unverified developer. To which he would hit yes, and then the launcher should open fine (and it won't display the unverified developer messages for the launcher anymore).

ok, I thought it would have the same result it would have in Windows.

  2. You go to Control Panel -> uninstall programs

Find which antivirus you have, these are known to cause problems with the launcher: Norton, Mcafee, AVG.

I don't know where Mac puts its control panel, you will have to google the answer

last time I used a Mac, it didn't have one.

though, it was OSX Mountain Lion. so, unless they changed it, (I doubt it) it won't have one.

  3. If the launcher becoming a part of the CurseForge client is true, then FtB can go fuck them selfs.

It will be sad too, as I was a good part of the comunity. (*couldn't keep strait face*) Yeah fuck right, I posted 2 things on there:

A bug report on Direwolf20 (1.5) and something calling Slowpoke an asshole. guess who got banned?

I still like FtB, but I HATE CurseForge.

  4. My laptop isn't terribly fast, so: Half-Life- Laptop can cope > Half-Life: Source > Might lag a bit > Half Life: Black mesa (Source plus more HD)- Make my laptop explode :c

Half-Life: Source has no texture updates. it's just HL1 in Source, so it should not lag.

There is only 2 reasons I can think of getting it if you have HL1:

    1. Half-Life Deathmatch: Source. yes, A dead muti-player game that comes with any payed copy of HLS.

    2. Garry's mod. it's in source, so you can play with the assets in Gmod.

  5. Isnt the auto save period of MC 10 minutes?

If it is then its your HDD that is letting you down and there isnt much you can do that is free. (except maybe optifine)

by default, it's 2 seconds. and you can't use Optifine, Hexxit has TConstruct.

  6. I started writing a slightly worked up response about how wrong you were until I realized you are using > like an arrow instead of a symbol for "greater than"...

Anyways, if anyone hasn't played it yet, go play "Black Mesa", the source remake twotails spoke of.

    no its not.

I was talking about Half-Life: Source.

when you buy it, it comes with Half-Life Deathmatch: Source.

All of Valve's games are mods of half life - even TF2 is run from HL2.exe. When they released Half Life 2, they started modding that instead.

The newer games have their own exe.

like Portal 2, CS:GO if I remember right, Ailen swarm, Dino D-Day, The Stanely Parable, and some others.

  7. I love that game and it sequels!

I haven't play the true original or it's DLCs, but I have played the Source remake of it.

(witch for some reason, it installs under \Half-Life 2\hl1\)

  8. I thought the creator of Optifine said that they do not want their mod in modpacks anymore.

even if they did, who cares?

sure, in a default Technicpack, it would NOT be alowed.

but, the massive amount of modpacks on the site (25175 non-hidden ones to be exact) can not be all Taken down if they have optifine just because little Timmy wanted to have a pack of just purely TMI and Optifine.
