That's the thing I used, couldn't find the link.

I just made my first by following instructions from this forum. Where do you run into trouble?
-
Tekkit was my intro to modded minecraft too.
I'd guess here:

Read the stickied thread there for the posting rules.
Also, I don't think signed posts are allowed.

Agree, I made a custom pack too based around those three tech mods (four really, Big Reactors). Never tried the crops though. I added many of the other mods that have been suggested here as well.
-
Thanks for sharing all this. I'll build one too and check it out. I'll try the sold cooling blocks (diamond and graphite) and compare.
-
Does this version have MFFS? If so, it can mine. Quite fast too, with proper upgrades.
-
What are the numbers for this design?
-
Thanks, I saw and liked that one. Wanted to check with the pros first.

Java 8 issue?

I created my first modpack, and put it on the Technic launcher. It runs on a spare PC I setup, and runs off Forge 10.13.2.1277. I has about 60ish mods, all tech. Learned a lot in the process of getting it going, need some advice. What kind of map (the ones you see in the corner) should I use? I have tried several, would like some opinions from server veterans. Is a server-side map a thing? Or will I need to distribute a map mod in my dropbox zip to all players?
-
Diamond blocks do quite well too, if you have tons to spare.

I've been searching for the best fuel-efficient design for active cooling for very large reactors (50k steam). Have you played with the .4x versions of Big Reactors? Does the "plus" design scale well to larger builds? I'd like to embark on a massive building project on a 1.7.10 modpack, but want to do it smartly.
-
When you're done building the reactor, stick a coolant port in it and see. If you're not making 40k steam, build it higher. As a guess, this size seems in the ballpark, though it's been awhile since I've made a large actively cooled one in this version. Tekkit can't go above 0.3.42A2, the newer builds offer neat tweaks and fixes.

Where did you see this error? Only thing I can think of is the handshake that wireless clients and base stations use when doing a WPA handshake.

I enjoy Tinkers, and it could be considered "early tech". I've tried some servers that disable vanilla tools entirely, making tinkers the only path. It was a fun challenge.

Could be a syntax issue in your config file. It wants a ":" in there. On a phone, video too small for me see if are are colons, but look at the wiki link and compare to what you have. The GC version in tekkit is old and buggy.

Thanks for the add. Finally got my PC to behave and get into the game. I like the forced Tinker's Construct beginning, I usually jump straight into tech, this is a an interesting alternative. Puts the brakes on a bit.

I am somewhat new to modded minecraft (6 months-ish) and really enjoy the tech mods and building factories. I'd like to try out your modpack, it has some mods I am familiar with, and many I am not. Sounds like fun. Do you have many active players?

Thou Shalt Not Ask, lest thee bring great offense to both mods and devs.

Thermal expansion is in the pack, this version has fluid ducts. Use as Curunir suggests and it should work fine.
-
-
I'd like to give it a try. Love building factories and other things on small no-drama servers. Name is Aetherpirate.

Working on an efficient design. Does anyone know if this release significantly changes how different materials behave for coolant / moderation? Focusing on passively cooled reactors.
I read the change logs at big-reactors.com and looked at various spreadsheets other folks have compiled over the past few months.
Diamond blocks seem to boost power / reduce heat very well. Anyone care to share their favorite 1.7.10, 0.4.0 designs?

Check out http://forums.technicpack.net/forum/63-platform-a-custom-server-zone/
There you will find custom modpacks that probably have what you're looking for. Many run 1.7.10 versions of mods. I'm on this one:

It's less than a week old, everyone's getting a fresh start.
Does anyone know how to make a modpack server?

Your post, I mean. The instructions you provided were great, I have my own little private server now with all the tech mods I like.
