The whole 'americans love guns' thing is part of our foundation. The idea that someone, either foreign or domestic, is going to try and take what is ours just never really faded away. The founding fathers were paranoid enough about our own government becoming tyrannical one day that they enshrined a right for every citizen to bear arms in our constitution just in case we needed to throw an armed uprising.

I hate laptops when it comes to choosing graphics. Even when you get the best thing available as far as mobile graphics go you'll still be screwed in a couple of years. This is why serious gaming on a laptop is considered to be rather silly. Why buy a 'gaming laptop' that in a few years you'll have to abandon if you want to play the latest and greatest when you can buy a decent and upgradeable desktop for roughly the same price? /rant Really did not mean for this to turn into a rant. :S

I kind of liked the original functionality. Would have been great for small servers (ie you + family/friends).

I doubt it. Jeb tweeted that this was intentional. He wanted them to have a drawback on servers. From his tweet on the 24th "No, I wanted it to have a drawback, and it makes more sense that it's the same chest for everyone".

I think you may have gotten the wrong idea about nearbygamer. He's not some tool that's trashing technic. In fact he's done/doing several lps with technic/tekkit and really seems to enjoy the pack. The dev build was giving him some issues, go figure, so he decided to do his own thing. He's made a few remarks about technic being under performing lately, this is true. I generally let this slide because one: he's admitted to not knowing a thing about modding and two: is, sadly, a bit of an idiot. But this is part of his charm so I'll keep watching.
