  1. I am having the same issue. Windmills are not generating EU no matter what I've tried. Tin, glass fibre, 5 blocks away from the windmill to a batbox, nothing. No EU.
  2. No, there is not a way to get Tekkit in singleplayer. You have to use Technic and use the BIG ASS BUTTON LABELED MOD SELECT in the launcher to disable the mods you don't want.
  3. Bees! I've been looking for the bees... Not that they are used for much, but I still wanted to do some bee keeping. :P
  4. If people login and then it starts happening on your local PC where the game is, it's not your internet connection. Hosting it on your personal machine while playing might be an issue. Do other people lag if you are not playing?
  5. I have Essentials working just fine. Everything seems to work. What isn't working for you?
  6. Re: Urgent help. You're an idiot. Not once did you even specify what the hell you were trying to do. Then you flip out on people for calling you out on your stupidity. If you can't SEARCH this forum or even READ the numerous stickies on the subject, you SHOULDN'T BE AN SERVER ADMIN. Moron. Why the HELL would anyone create a step by step guide to install this on 3rd party host? There are MILLIONS of them out there and because of people like you, there would need to be MILLIONS of guides. Here's a suggestion. Why don't you READ about how to get it running on various platforms, figure out what works for your particular host, and create the damn step by step instructions for the rest of the community instead of being a blood sucking leach and demanding one be created for you?
  7. I use essentials and it works just fine. Install it just like you would any other time...
  8. You need to put quotes around that. "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" options after "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\java.exe" options after "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" options after
  9. Do you have 32-bit java installed or just the x64 version?
  10. You could always copy the things you want in McEdit and paste them into the new map. Or you could just start over and have fun building new stuff.
  11. I can confirm that the memory issue with computer craft IS NOT because of code being run. We had one server where he simply spawned in a console and placed it simple for decoration. That seems to be the starting point of our issues. Actually, he may not have even placed one now that I think about it. The server has 8 gig of ram and all of it was being allocated for 3 minecraft servers that were only 1gig each. When stopping all servers, only 4gig of ram would free up. I had to reboot the machine to free up the remaining ram (which is definitely the sign of a memory leak). I removed computer craft and the problem seems to have completely gone away.
  12. I've been using dynmap for a long time and everyone LOVES it. Being able to chat from the web site is awesome.
  13. Well this explains a lot! We seem to be experiencing the same problems... I set our difficulty back down to Easy just because we were getting raped by everything.
  14. You can change the port it uses in the server.properties file. The IP address that your friends will connect to is your public IP address. You can find it by going to whatismyip.com.
  15. did you change the port for the server? if you did, you picked a port that is already in use. If you didn't, then the server didn't fully stop and you need to kill that process. Try doing it on a fresh reboot.
  16. If it's paid for hosting, why not just submit a support request?
  17. Does fragnet run bukkit from a centralized location? I had this same exact problem when trying to use MineOS and had to switch to Debian. Is this a pay-for hosting or something you set up yourself?
  18. It's a little more complicated than what that link shows if you want all the MineOS functionality to work. I ended up ditching that and using Debian instead. MineOS is nice in concept, but execution has some issues when you get into more complicated setups, like Tekkit. I didn't look at all his Python scripts, but it appeared to me that it was trying to run the servers out of the same initial directory instead of the directory where all the plugins and stuff are located. This caused an issue with Tekkit and usually resulted in the mods never being loaded despite it running the tekkit.jar and all the plugins and mods being installed right.
  19. I can't stand CommandBook anymore. I put essentials in and the first thing I noticed is the ChopTree isn't working anymore. If you use GroupManager, add choptree.chop to the permissions list.
  20. This will probably sound like a smart-ass answer.. But did you restart the server after installing Tekkit?
  21. Re: Bugs found in Tekkit 2.0 I have 2 servers running in Debian and they both work. -- Creative mode crashes the server. If you are an op and just go into creative mode and give yourself something from NEI, if you click on that item in the hot bar area of inventory, or just click on anything in minecraft's default area, it just crashes with a server error.
  22. This really isn't something like a mail server or something. You're hosting Minecraft.. It can be pretty resource intensive. It's probably cheaper to find just a place that does minecraft hosting. Then you are not worried about the resources for the server, just for the game... Like these: http://redstonehost.com/ http://www.minecraftserverhost.net/minecraft_plans.html http://treepuncher.com/
  23. I'm no Minecraft server master... However, it should probably be a couple gig at least. If you are ONLY going to do minecraft, you may want to stay away from the larger linux distros. While they use far less memory than windows, there are still things running that you probably won't ever need. Since I have 16 gigs of ram at home, I set up Virtual Box from Oracle (it's free), downloaded the latest version of MineOS and set it up and run a server off my machine at home. I started out with just 2 gigs of ram and it seemed to decent for the 3 players we had connected to it. In my reading, it seems that having 1 gig of ram is a bare minimum just for the Minecraft server. So if you leave some headroom for the OS and then let the MineOS create a decent ram disk for the world data, you would probably need to have at least 2 gig. Since mine was a virtual machine and I had the foresight to install the x64 edition first, all I had to do was turn it off and allocate 4 gigs of ram to it and turn it back on. I use that to host 2 worlds now. I also have the host machine running a McMyAdmin instance for a server. That will soon go away once Tekkit is out. I will put a Tekkit world up using MineOS as it seems pretty stable. I haven't looked, but you might be able to find some companies doing only Minecraft hosting.
  24. If you think this forum is bad, go stroll over to the BF3 forum. Then you should be old enough to know it was 14.4k or 14,400 bits/s, not 14 mega bits/s.
