  1. FYI - java 7 is available for 32-bit systems
  2. 2.1.1 renamed all of the mod files to make it easier for linux people. You have duplicates of all the files in your mods directory. Remove the earlier versions and try again.
  3. You have to put it in whatever chunks you want to keep loaded. Just put it down and walk away. That's all you have to do.
  4. There is a sticky thread with screenshots at the top of this forum. Look a little further than the tip of your nose.
  5. Go to the bug forum. Review the sticky on posting a bug report. When you post your log, make sure you include a portion of it from a time when your friend tries to join.
  6. You have to put down a chunk loader block. Recipe is 1 lapis lazuli surrounded by iron ingots. Makes 4 blocks.
  7. Overwriting didn't work because the file names were changed. This was the major point of the tiny update to fix linux installs. I imagine this won't be an issue again.
  8. Is that all you get when you try to run it or just the most pertinent? If there's more, pastebin the rest for us.
  9. I could be totally wrong on this but, as long as you've disabled it server-side, I don't think the users will need to change anything.
  10. Is it possible that you upgraded to 2.11 and have duplicates of each mod in your mods folder? If that is indeed the case, you just need to delete the older version of each mod.
  11. Dude. That IS how. That's how Akliz does it. They take whatever script they have to launch the jar and make it use Tekkit.jar instead. There is literally nothing you can do to make it happen yourself. If there were, I would have put that instead.
  12. That's right and there is absolutely nothing that tells you that. There's also nothing that tells you Akliz can even support Tekkit. I don't expect them to tell you that 'cause they'd have to do that for every mod pack so I posted it here. Now, people have a hosting service to go to that's been confirmed to support Tekkit. Feel free to continue being a twatwaffle though.
  13. Does anyone know of a plugin that replicates SPC's dynamic fly mode?
  14. I recently set up a server with Akliz and wanted to share my experiences with everyone. Let me first say that this is not an official Technic Pack endorsement of Akliz. This should be obvious but, well, internet. Step 1: Go to akliz.net and get yourself a server. I'm currently on a 288 MB server but it's just me and an occasional other person. Step 2: Download the Tekkit server zip. Step 3: Upload the contents of the zip to the base directory of your server using the directions provided by Akliz. Step 4: Submit a support ticket. Let the fine folks there know that you have uploaded the server files and you need your server configured to use Tekkit.jar. Be nice. Step 5: Wait for support to take care of your ticket. Step 6: Play Minecraft. I really can't recommend Akliz enough. They've been helpful and responsive to all my questions. Keep in mind that I don't work for them so I really can't help you with any questions. I just wanted to share my experience getting it installed because the process is not intuitive.
  15. It's the Forester. That's what it looks like in the Sphax texture pack.
  16. Re: why wont tmi work? There's no way you are this stupid. LEARN TO READ
  17. This is true. Also, keep in mind, Blizzard has been incorporating mods into the default UI for WoW for years. I think you'll find that it's par for the course with any moddable software.
  18. No, they can take it now without changing the current ToS and they won't change their ToS. Yes, it sucks but there's nothing anyone can do about it. Just carry on and hope they continue choosing not to enforce it. Curse isn't in the business of improving games. They provide a service for which there is obviously a demand. While I'm not the biggest fan of Curse, I don't think you can lay the blame for the cesspool the modding communities have become at their feet. I have seen no evidence towards that conclusion as of yet. Also, expressing yourself so that others can easily understand you is neither invalid nor useless. It is an essential part of communicating which you have failed to grasp. What I fail to grasp is how anyone who desires to have his/her opinion be heard would choose to do so in such a manner. No post in this thread is even in the same ball park as a forum war or getting out of control. If the discussion is too intense for you, for some reason, just don't read it. I promise you no one will feel insulted if you choose not to participate.
  19. I wasn't referring to just this thread. I was referring to the fact that this has been discussed to death several times already. Like Kaker said, if it bothers you that much, don't use it. I'm not saying I'm better than you because I can spell properly. If what you have to say isn't important enough to you to warrant a quick checking over before you click post, then you shouldn't expect anyone else to put any effort into reading it.
  20. You ever listen to a radio talk show and, close to the end of the show, a listener that just tuned in calls in to talk about some topic that was covered in the first 20 minutes of the show? That's you and this is the phone call.
