  1. Perhaps I missed it if its i the configs, but is there a way to set the 'ratio' of nether ores? it seems way to overpopulated (at least for the balance we are going for) on our server. I've upped the explosion chance, and size to discourage mass nether mining, hoping to slow it down. As with a eff 4 pickaxe and mining in nether CHEWS through netherrack, exposing and gathering ores MUCH faster in the world. Id like to keep the mod, as it as a reason to goto the nether for my players. But also with the rate you can gather ores in the nether, don't want it to negate the usefulness of mining in the normal world.
  2. Exactly warpspeed.. The rules aren't just there to 'stop people from doing exploits' They are mostly there to outline ahead of time a set of guidelines me, and my players expect you to hold if you want to play in our sandbox If ANY player is dusrupting, or lowering the enjoyment of my server by the players, guess which one is leaving the server They are there to give a clear line of "if you do X, you was warned ahead of time that we frown on"..no "well I didnt know it wasnt allowed!" loopholes to play with. Sure people that want to break rules don't care if the rules are there...just like laws in like. people that willingly break them KNOW they are breaking them and don't care. But it gives a set of rules we can point at and go "well it was well known stabbing people in the neck on the subway isn't allowed..and you did it anyway, SO your knowledge that it was illegal before hand means you was willing to take that risk of punishment despite being warned if caught."
  3. I have not a clue what your trying to say...that the rules can be broken, therefor the rules are pointless? I have 'rules' for one reason, and one reason only. its MY server. I'm paying the $110 a month to host it, out of my pocket. I admin it for free, the mods work for free out of love for the server. I will dictate the rules of my 'house' as I see fit much like I do in my real house when guests come over. Our rules for the server are a general outline of "if you want to stay in my house for dinner, these are a few guidelines to follow to not be asked to leave". Saying having rules because they can be broken is crap, is like saying "why have laws against murder..we need to fix the bug of people being murderable to start with."
  4. Why not just have the admin do /gamemode DynoDomo and cut out the middle man? I'm not against EE by any means, if people like it go for it. But to me its just creative mode, without the guilt of knowing you are in creative mode. in 4-5 days time you can build anything, and have diamond chests full of every item in the game...whats the point of not just having creative mode turned on to start with in that case? Turning sunshine/torchlight into any items while AFK watching TV isn't 'playing' tekkit to me.
  5. I use disableCraft plugin for this (since its easier than having to edit a CRAPLOAD of permissions if I want to globally disable and item). works wonderfully for me. Now if you want to disable it just for some people, but say admin/op/mod can still have them..the above method does this well.
  6. Oh yea, quantum armor, mining laser, and Mass fab and such is off. Lasers off more so for the 'scatter shot" mode, it tears the map to pieces. it makes a mess of things quick :)
  7. I have a question for you guys. To make a long story short, and add pointless background info Ive ran a bukkit(and previously hmod) server for about 3 years now, After the decline of new people we decided to move to tekkit, so the loyal userbase I have can have something new to play with. So far they are loving it, it gives so many new goals and things to do beyond the "food, shelter, tools" of vanilla. Over the last week or 2, Ive had to disabled a few things such as EE, quarries, scrapboxes, Nukes, and a small handful of other items. And having a few players complaining about "why you turning everything off? you ruining it!" I'm not trying to 'ruin the fun", I'm trying to "leave some of the effort in" so to speak. EE is overpowered to say the least, in a week you have anything and everything you want. same with the huge cobblegen to scrap to scrapboxes to dispenser, automated thing. I can only see EE as being 'creative mode without the guilt of creative mode'. Trying to make it so there is still TONS of new things to play with, but the effort vs reward vs time is still there, so the pride of going "It took me 2 months to gather the items to build this reactor with railcraft power distribution network to power my entire city!" is still there. No real pride in what you build, or feeling satisfied if all you did was plop down a world anchor, quarry, and EE machines, come back in 2 days and have all the mats to do it. MY question is this, is this common? Are these things seen as generally overpowered, and is it normal for players to throw this much a fit when you disable them? or am I trying to be too "I still want the effort of collecting and work involved doing so in". I know in the end its my server, and ultimately up to me if I disable everything but wooden tools if I REALLY wanted to..But cant help feeling a twing of guilt by turning them off when some players seem to think its a core requirement of a tekkit server.
  8. edit: found the answer, its in file itself..no config for it :\
  9. Ive looked in all the cfg files, but cannot seem to locate it if it exists.. Is there a config setup for what items, and percentages that scrapboxes gives items on a server? I need to adjust them a bit, but seems it hard coded somewhere and not adjustable, am I just missing where it may be set ? (hopefully)
  10. Ah ok, makes sense, Right now I got a EC splitter and lever to turn it off as a work around. (well work around as in stop drawing my power) Guess that makes since an Energy Link works like an engine, so its pushing power like an Engine which causes a draw on the power...as apposed to Circuits that only allow a 'pull' of amperage.
  11. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? or is it suppose to work like this? My issue is I make an Energy Link, to change power cables to pipes. All goes will until I place the wooden pipe on the energy link. Soon as I do, it starts SUCKING power down, with nothing attached to the conductive pipe, is this intended? My setup is MFU -> Energy link -> Conductive wooden Pipe -> Coductive golden Pipe -> (Nothing), so from what I tell it shouldn't be pulling power, but its draining my MFU in about 2 minutes
