Automatic Sorting and Processing system - ASP Mk. II
DXWarlock replied to littleweseth's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
yea i like filters, I try to avoid blutricity as much as I can. Don't like the idea of a whole power setup I need, that's only used for a handful of things to do with sorting, and cant convert it to other types if need be. seems wasteful. I got a few switch toggle filters for auto crafting on my actual setup between the machines and chests. so if I need parts can get them auto made and rerouted. but usually I just make parts by hand in bulk with project table, and toss the extras into the chest to get auto sorted. Wasn't knocking the OP system its great. it's amazing looking, took a lot of thought, and very impressive. That took a lot of planning! I'm just of the mindset of "how can I accomplish whatever I need to do with the fewest parts". -
Too Many drops on my Tekkit server, cant connect!

Get him to use tubes, not pipes..they wont drop items on the ground when they have no where to go :) -
Automatic Sorting and Processing system - ASP Mk. II

this is how I do mine rebuilt it outside so you can see it better. This same setup been running for months and hasn't had a jam up yet. It auto gathers from the buffer, enderchest, and normal chest (and just add more to that line of you need more input options. This is just a setup for a macerator, furnace, extractor, recycler for an example. the filters above the gold chest sort what needs to goto what machine and the chest is a 'buffer' to load the machine as it can, and just add more machines and filters if you need more of one, or more types. it comes out the machine by a filter pulling..and loops back over the machines. So for example the filter over the macerator only takes raw ore to make dust, the closest place dust can go is the furnace, that it has to loop back over...once an item can no longer match the filters above the machines, it goes down the line to the iron chests..each chest has a filter over it for what it allows. its very easy to expand. just add tube and filters to add unlimited chests, or a tube/filter in the 'work machine' loop to add more machines. the single gold chest is my "Haven't found a place to sort it yet" chest with an empty filter since its the last place anything will try to go if I havent setup a chest/filter for it yet. You can always add 2 filters side by side above a machine if you need more than 9 items to goto it in a Y, or 2 filters over one chest if you need more than 9 items in a chest. I myself don't like more than 8 or so 'types' of items in one chest...I like to get specific on what a chest has, and make about 100 chests so i can know exactly what item types are in one of them. You can also get fancy and add lamps for what machine is on to light up..like in mine i got a lamp behind the 'tube' off a EU detector going down into the machine,so I can see which is running. Or Eu reader panels above each machine if you are running a mfe/batbox to each one. But I just put the basics here needed to work so you can see it. -

Seems WAY overly complicated to do such a simple task. It is impressive though, but why all the sorting machines, timers, wiring, detectors and such? Can accomplish the same one drop place, to auto machine and sorting to chests as needed, using just chests/tubes/filters and one timer (with a handful of jacketed wire). -
Unsupported major.minor version 51.0 Update java on the new machine. it probably has 1.6 installed

Ignorance of a subject matter, and arrogance on its delay makes for great posts... I was thinking he was somewhat intelligent and just misinformed until I saw the end and the 8th grade egotistical usage of 'fail' as an adjective. And if its so easy to slap the mods together, and toss a name on it..why have you been waiting since august to do so? Surely by your understanding, you could grab the mods, throw them into a server and be up and running on 1.4.2 modded within an hour? correct? So your complaining is "Guys why you taking so long to do something so simple?!" MY question to you in turn is "Why you waiting so long on something that you claim is so simple? do it yourself then" Or is it you are too lazy to do so yourself, so wait for someone else to figure it out, while bitching how lazy they are? I believe there is a pot, and a kettle in this situation..and you two should meet for tea, you have a lot in common to talk about.

Ah nice, glad you got it worked out. if it was a world issue, you arent using an old version of towny are you? it seems to cause weird chunks.
-
oh yea, Just was saying that way I wasnt interested in DNS. not a bukkit server.
-
Or bukkit, that killed it for me. it feels like a step backwards.

See why giving correct specs help? We are here to help you, not drool over whatever specs you want to randomly make up and tell us you have..It just makes troubleshooting harder You could be running it on a old AMD 5400, or a quad socket xeon 24 core server, I wouldn't respect/disrespect you any less for either, so can leave the e-peen at the door :P

They do have an "updated/not updated" page...its on the main page where you download from. If it says "3.1.2" its "not updated". I mean I can see your point, but hopefully you can see ours too. Adding a bar for if mods are updated or not wouldn't help stop people from asking.. telling them "its not done unless you see a new version" and giving them a bar saying "its not done unless this bar is full"..is basically the same thing. If there can be no ETA, the bar would either be totally empty or totally full. As they have no control, say, or input on when a mod they use will be done. Giving a 'guestimate' would just cause people to raise hell when that day passes, at the tekkit team, that had nothing to do with the mod being late. The only difference would be people going from "whats taking so long to update!!!" to "Why is X mod taking so long to update!!!" Perhaps its just my viewpoint, knowing that it will be out in 4 days, a week, a month does me not one bit of good. I cant test it before then, use it before then, or even care about it UNTIL then. So say its a month from today... tell me today it will be a month away, or me going to look a month from now on my own..same end result is "oh the new versions out let me download it".
-
I mean maybe its just me. The main page links to all the mods. It takes me maybe 3-4 minutes to poke around them and see if they are done, close to done, no idea how long..etc. If I goto the first one and it has 'no ETA' thats all I need to know..since if that ones not done, tekkit wont be done. simple. But I still fail to see how they expect a ETA or progress feedback, when tekkit uses many different mods from many different devs. How is getting a tekkit reply of "11 out of 12 mods are finished, with 1 having no ETA" any different than "all 12 have no ETA" in the end it means 'tekkit has no ETA"
-
There is no reason you cannot google the mods themselves to see where each one stands..It's simply laziness. I mean really. whats it take 5 minutes to look at them and see? And how are they to make a progress report for mods they don't directly update? harass the mod makers weekly on a progress update, so they can update their side info also? Say they have info for 6 mods...3 of them have no timeline of completion from the mod author. how would they relay that? "3 of them gave us 3 different dates, and 3 have a 'when its done'.?

I'm confused... You was saying it was 5.8ghz, so I put my opinion aside, and assumed that was actually what you got it to. I was suggesting turning it down as 5.8, even if achievable, probably wouldn't be stable 24-7 for a server... now you say its only 1% overclock? So now completely confused of what its running as/on, but if its the 1% OC that shouldn't be an issue then. Also is the ram overclocked any? did you change the multiplier for the CPU, or was it the FSB/hostclock you changed? If you are trying to overclock the CPU by the hostclock, that also effects your ram/NB and SB chips..they might not like it when under stress (like a heavy server load, causing a lag spike while the MC server locks up). To just be sure try running hyperpi for 24 hours see in it can finish.
-
So you get angry over things you 'don't understand' instead of learning why? Lets start with the basics, what does updating tekkit involve? what are they working on/waiting on to update? You have no right to complain about 'why' they don't update..if you don't understand 'what' they have to update.

Tekkit + Towny gives bugged chunks
DXWarlock replied to Triad2006's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
its for any of them.. 1.3.1 CB, 1.2.5-R5.0 CB, 1.2.5-R4.0 Think thats your problem I had the issue LONG ago..it was to do with the regen code, and the 256 height. it was fixed in 81. -

are you using towny for 1.2.5 (0.81.0.0)? -
Tekkit plugin: Logging, rollbacking?
DXWarlock replied to FusSionzZ97's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Logblock works well for me. had no issues with it so far. We use towny also, and its auto revert on creeper explosion is nice. -
I read that 4 times, and still no idea what you are getting at...
-
If you are overclocking it, try turning it down..it could be an error in processing that causes it to crash. Unstable overclock is just as deadly to a server as it is to hyperpi.

Tekkit doesnt work; but everything else does
DXWarlock replied to Crackbone's topic in Tekkit Classic Discussion
Slot 241 is already occupied by codechicken.enderstorage.BlockEnderChest@209fe7 when adding ic2.common.BlockRubSapling@5de1f6c1 It looks like enderchest plugin is fighting whth rubber saplings for an ID number. You might try changing the ID of one or the other to an unused ID -
Thats why I keep asking..not so much to 'point out his specs cant be'. But more a "tell us what they really are, and we can help you more.." Since assuming the 6ghz isn't true, we have no idea if the 16g ram is, or the core count. We cant help you find the weak point/problem if you gives up false info on things that might be part of the problem Think of it like this..you call a mechanic wanting to know why your car overheats while towing your party boat..he asks what size engine you have..you tell him "A supercharged, turbo v8 diesel big block"..when its a "4 cylinder Honda economy motor"..and he cant troubleshoot it for you to help you figure out why.
-
Well it MIGHT be part of the problem, if what you say is true...and you got a machine overclocked up near where competition overclocks can barely get to with liquid nitrogen..and run it 24-7 that COULD be a problem (but I see the '6ghz' as a ' made up number to compensate for people assuming it might be under powered). Whats your actual upload speed? usually when I had it home hosting..it was caused when I was capping out my network with 40 other things, and people was timing out. you can test it here http://www.speedtest.net/
