  1. I think he meant when the pump has to lower itself by a level then the engine will quit. And no, it won't. Magmatic engines have a pretty big internal buffer of both energy and lava so they can go fora while with no input once they are filled.

If you mean when the whole pool is exhausted then yes, but that pic is from the nether so it will take weeks irl for a pump to run dry.

  2. Im not angry as I suspect most people reading this would not be. Just make sure you look around at the many wikis available for possible info. Googling for "wiki quarry" has IRL quarries as first hit, but the next 4 are from various packs using BC quarries.

  3. The wiki only applies to classic. And there is no need to be so angry at me, I just forgot some stuff.

Not really true. The majority of machines, blocks, and other mechanics don't change in large ways between versions. Any wiki entry on the quarry, from any version for pretty much any pack, anywhere, is going to be correct in most parts.

  4. ummm, what? Macerators turn ore into ore dust allowing you to make more metals from less ores.

Energy condensers are from EE2, not IC2, and are out. EE2 isn't updated anymore and EE3 dropped them because they were way too strong. Nothing really replaces condensers because most of the major mods don't like them, too op.

  5. Pulverizers are like macerators, but slower, not upgradeable, much greater control of which side feeds to which slot, and automatic outpt. Basically they are easier to automate, but you need more to achieve the same volume per time.

You can just place a quarry and use the default dig zone without landmarks if they just will not work.

  6. From IC2? TE stuff like pulverizers. Pulvs were actually already in tekkit iirc, its just they are slower and need more infastructure to work and can't be upgraded, so people just used macerators. Check out the thermal expansion stuff, it replaces IC2 pretty completely.

  7. Or just run a whitelist server with sane players. Public servers will always have griefers who can find ways around the protections, the best you can do is minimize it, which I suppose could involve removing turtles. Do you remove all turtles or just the ones that can remove blocks? Some turtles like the crafty turtles can only build.

  8. EE2 is no longer updating, EE3 is what is in the pack, and it is pretty much only minum stone currently. EE2 never got past MC 1.2.5 IIRC.

IC2 is no longer updating, the author hasn't updated in 6+ months and is MIA. When you say it has lost most of its good items, you mean to say it is out completely and has no items at all.

TC2 is no longer updating, Azanor is working on TC3 but until it has a full release he has restricted it to only a few modpacks. Azanor is cool, I am sure we will get something awesome eventually.

Dunno on mo creatures, but I bet google would tell me what is up with it.

I'm really frustrated that time didn't stop for 6 months.

  9. Redstone engines only work on wooden transport pipes. Use a real engine for real machines. Also, pretty sure there are no solar panel blocks currently in, most likley the solar panel you have is a component for something else like the MPS.

  10. while I don't want the beast to starve to death because I think multiple pack platforms is good competition

Except there really isn't any competition. I don't know about FTB, but the devs here seem to just be focusing on doing their own thing without regard for what anyone else is doing. They just want to make the funnest packs possible. That is a good chunk of the reason I prefer technic to FTB. The stuff in technic packs get in based on its own merits, not whether some other pack has it or doesn't or whether its popular or not. Changes are made to improve the pack.

And yes, the platform is amazing. Why have a handful of packs, when you can have a zillion packs, some of which could be your own? Brilliant logic.

  11. Not all ore berries though, I have one type growing on the wall in one of my workrooms, full light, and its growing just fine. One of the food berries, the orange one can only grow near snow. Biome doesn't seem to matter, but if there is snow on the ground next to it, it grows.

  12. Natura is certainly interesting and seems to work fine in the current tekkit. However, there is no central documentation that I can find for it, making many of the plants an enormous pain to deal with, as many of them seem to have very specific growing requirements that are not always obvious. However, when they are figured out, they do make quite nice farms, although I am not sure on their automation ability yet. Having to work them by hand would be annoying.

Also, plants are clearly technical in nature, if someone is complaining about that. Industrial farms are way high tech IRL, no reason we shouldn't be able to get high tech industrial farms in technic.

  13. MFR is the massively obvious one. Well, except forestry is not sustainable anymore, since the farm multi blocks require apatite, so MFR is actually sustainable forever, unlike forestry. And yes, tekkit has biofuel. The only real ability that has been removed in the newest tekkit are RP2 frames, nothing can replace them yet. Everything else, has a replacement. You just need to look at the 60 something mods included in tekkit, instead of obsessing over the two, IC2 and RP2, that were removed for several compelling reasons. The biggest reason being that they don't update for months on end, and thus including them isn't even an option that is available, and probably won't be for months, if ever.
