  1. Did you use junction pipes at every pipe intersection?

  3. you get as many downloads as they get and it adds up fast.
  4. It is because the launcher downloads the file direct and so they don't get payed for their adfly links.
  5. I had to quit and restart minecraft after 3-4 ages explored because I would get lag spikes even in the overworld. I really can't see this working for SMP at all unless it is only on a small server with a couple friends and only one age open at a time. I think the book should have to be on a stand and when activated opens a portal that can be used by anyone who wants to go through. Would make exploring on a small server with friends easier. This would kill a large server for sure.
  6. I second this. I tried Mystcraft last night to see what all the noise was about. While it is a pretty cool mod and has some potential there are some glaring issues. For instance I had one age that crashed minecraft every time I tried to go there. Another was so laggy it was unplayable. And the final delete the whole freaking folder moment for me was when minecraft did a hard freeze and after forcing the shutdown and restarting I spawned into solid rock. I go back and dig my stuff out of the rock and I get every last item EXCEPT THE LINKING BOOK HOME. Yes I was stuck in that age with no way back and said screw this and deleted the whole install. Until the mod author makes a way to get back home without the stupid books (why not just spawn a portal or something instead of the retarded linking books) I won't be using that mod.
  7. I have no problems at all on my server and EE is not installed at all. I think what you mean to say is Tekkit is to hard and to much work when they take away the easy overpowered stuff.
  8. I had some working great for a few hours. Then they stopped working and I never could get them to work again. Seem to be very buggy at best and pretty much useless at worst.

  10. I do not and never will have EE on my server. And my server is a friends only setup. I just think EE is to easy and to powerful and doesn't really fit the Machine/technology aspect of what I am looking for. And the potential for disaster is just to high.
  11. I know it isn't any massive builds with lots of items being pumped around as we haven't built anything super complex so far. We learned our lesson as our first couple worlds went down in buildcraft lag hell. Odd thing is it doesn't really show up in the fps as they tend to stay pretty even, it is almost like the whole world sort of stutters for a second then returns to normal. Still trying to work out whether it is more in the actual server itself or if it is one of the mods. All that being said, it is 100% better then it was before as the "stutters" are very minor and don't really cause any issues. Before using cb++ the same stutters would basically freeze the client for a few seconds and the nether was pretty much unplayable. I am very happy with things so far and can now work on the smaller issues instead of having to mother the server constantly.
  12. I have switched over to build 75 of cb++ and so far it works really well. I still get some random lag spikes but not nearly as bad as before. The difference in the nether was most amazing so far. Using this and the nether lag fix nearly doubled my frame rate. Still tweaking some stuff but my little server is really starting to smooth out.
  13. I am fairly new to Tekkit and only have a small friends only server (4 players) but here is what I have run into so far. In a short time we have had to delete 2 worlds and are on our 3rd new world. First 2 we started by mainly using a ton of Buildcraft stuff and discovered that as the contraptions and pipes got bigger and more complex the laggier our world got until we finally nuked it and started over. After doing so twice we are taking a new tactic of mainly using Industrial Craft and Red Power. In fact so far we have managed to not use a single bit of buildcraft and so far everything is working perfectly. We have had to get more creative and work a bit harder but are having more fun. Would it be easier to slap down miles of pipe and a quarry? Of course, but experience has shown in the long run it is far less fun and the end result is not what we had hoped for. But I still have Buildcraft enabled as I do realize there are things it does that the other tech mods can't match and eventually we will have need for some of it. I am hoping that the Thermal Expansion mod that is in the new Technic pack makes it's way into Tekkit soon.
  14. This add on for BC seems to be bug ridden and as far as I can tell the developers are not around or absent for awhile at the very least. I am curious as to why it is included in Tekkit considering the issues this mod seems to have. My personal experience with it is most of it either works briefly then breaks, breaks other parts of Tekkit, or it crashes the server when trying to use it. I really loved the teleport pipes for the few hours I could get them to function then spent another few hours trying to get it working again and finally went back to the old fashioned pipes to move stuff. Additionally I was teleporting power to a quarry and it was working amazingly well until it suddenly stopped sending power and the quarry broke. Could that be a different issue or is it a BuildCraft problem in general? Seems to be a large overlap in functions for many of the Mods included in Tekkit. Sorry if this has been asked before, I did a search and did not find this asked directly.
