  1. Not sure about 32gbram, but the server I run is fully dedicated to running Tekkit. I've heard that the lag problem. Might be stopped if I disable decay, and that would be a small price to pay for the worlds I've seen in Mystcraft. I'd love to get it to work on my server.
  2. Apparently a third party (as in not the original developer) made a bukkit port for MystCraft. It seems to work, but I am extremely interested in getting it to work in Tekkit. So far the only problem I've encountered is descriptive books freeze the game in singleplayer.
  3. I'm assuming he intends to use frames, although since I've personally never used them I can't say if it would be possible to. I don't know of any Tekkit-related materials other than frames which are able to move, however.
  4. That's the odd thing - the distance is around 48 to 64, but the EU reader says no current is reaching that far. It stops right below a level with working luminators. On that level the EU goes from 3 to about 10 with the luminators working fine, but drops to 0 on the next cable and becomes unpowered.
  5. Oh, neat. Didn't know what those were used for, thanks for the suggestion.
  6. Quite frustrating. I'm thinking of just scrapping the idea of the luminators and using lamps, but the problem there would be how to power them. Glowstone would look odd in this building. Help is still accepted and appreciated though, would ultimately love to have luminators. Edit: I was under the impression lamps needed to be (redstone) powered to give off light, and since my floors are only one thick I can't think of a solution for that which wouldn't look off.
  7. I first placed the cables, then the luminators, then sprayed with CF. Same procedure on all levels. Not sure why this setup isn't working, and it's killing me. I'd like to sleep in the building without hunting down creepers and spiders. Thanks. If you're interested in the full thing PM me and I could send over the IP.
  8. I already tried that and for some reason the EU abruptly drops to 0 one block below the working luminators. I've also got 5x MFSU (full) and 14x HV Solar Arrays powering this, so I don't think that power should have been a problem. What I've noticed (however this may not and probably is not correct) is that for a wire to have an EU value it has to have a machine/other output that is actively drawing power and draining the energy at the other end. As a side note, this is just two levels - I've got 3 levels total lit up and the rest are not.
  9. What I've noticed is that teleport pipes don't always work well. I've got 3 set up (2 in from my quarries, 1 out into a storage chest) and they sometimes unlink without a visible reason, and start working again abruptly without user input.
  10. Reuploaded on a different site. Hope this helps.
  11. Here are some screenshots of the setup I have to aid in diagnosing the problem: The only thing connecting these two levels is more glass fibre cable, nothing in between. I also got rid of the HV transformer, however it had no effect. The transformers are pointed in the right direction. There is glass fibre cable imbedded in the concrete.
  12. Title: Not all luminators hooked up work correctly Version: 3.1.2 OS: Windows 7 OR Windows XP Java Version: 7 Description of Problem: **I am running Tekkit 3.1.1 but was not able to select it in the Version dropdown due to its absence** I have luminators hooked up to a central column of glass fiber cable running through a tower. The lower levels of luminators don't light up, even if they are (in theory) wired up properly. The power source is a few HV Solar Arrays feeding into an MFSU, which in turn connects first to a HV transformer, then a MV transformer, and then individual LV transformers at each level. Enough power is being supplied and a surplus is stored in the MFS Units. Error Messages: Error Log:
  13. Thanks for the prompt response, didn't know about McEdit. Now I can safely get rid of it.
  14. I've gotten the same problem. Unfortunately, now that I've identified it, I've no way to get rid of it. No map editors I've heard of support Tekkit and I can't remove it manually as the server freezes when I approach it.
  15. Confirmation, this happened to mine as well: 14:55:55 [sEVERE] java.lang.NullPointerException 14:55:55 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.ItemStack.damage(ItemStack.java:172) 14:55:55 [sEVERE]at ic2.common.TileEntityCropmatron.scan(TileEntityCropmatron.java:133) 14:55:55 [sEVERE]at ic2.common.TileEntityCropmatron.q_(TileEntityCropmatron.java:73) 14:55:55 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.World.tickEntities(World.java:1190) 14:55:55 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.w(MinecraftServer.java:569) 14:55:55 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftServer.java:467) 14:55:55 [sEVERE]at net.minecraft.server.ThreadServerApplication.run(SourceFile:492) 14:55:55 [sEVERE] Unexpected exception java.lang.NullPointerException at net.minecraft.server.ItemStack.damage(ItemStack.java:172) at ic2.common.TileEntityCropmatron.scan(TileEntityCropmatron.java:133) at ic2.common.TileEntityCropmatron.q_(TileEntityCropmatron.java:73) at net.minecraft.server.World.tickEntities(World.java:1190) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.w(MinecraftServer.java:569) at net.minecraft.server.MinecraftServer.run(MinecraftServer.java:467) at net.minecraft.server.ThreadServerApplication.run(SourceFile:492)
  16. Update: I'm not sure why, but I tried running the server again with plugins installed, and they all seem to work. As I have no idea why this happened, I can't say how I "fixed" it. If it makes any difference, the server runs Fedora Core 13 with Java 6.
  17. Hullo, I've decided to run a Tekkit server, but I want to keep the functionality of my Bukkit plugins. If I understand correctly, I'm supposed to just drop the .jars into the Plugins folder like I would for Bukkit - however, none of the plugins I attempted to install work (they don't show up in the /plugin list). They are as follows: OpenInv PluginList ScizzrHome WorldEdit WorldGuard Vault I'm fairly sure that at least WorldEdit and ScizzrHome are up to date/compatible, but they don't show up. Can anyone shed some light on my situation?
