  1. No, the system should automatically allocate more RAM up to the maximum as it's needed. (Provided it isn't being actively used by another application or otherwise doesn't actually exisit) Out of interest exactly how much physical ram do you actually have?
  2. Like Silent said, use No-IP to provide you a Dynamic user friendly hostname. No more typing in IP's. I have personally used this solution myself while moving between multiple physical locations all round the world. The entire time I was able maintain a constant server availability as long as my computer was turned on. Link if you need it: http://www.no-ip.com/ I would also suggest reverting the server.properties IP back to its default 0.0.0.0 (or blank I dont remember which) the only time I can imagine you'd need to use that setting is if you had multiple IP's directed to your single router and you only wanted the server to be accessible on one of them.
  3. Be very sure you want to do this.... because doing so will make for very easy griefing...
  4. Maximum Memory is the maximum amount of memory or RAM you have allocated yourself for the system to allocate to the minecraft server process, Allocated Memory Is the amount of memory the process has been allocated by the system to the minecraft server process, Free Memory is the amount of free or unused memory that has been allocated by the system to the minecraft server process. Basically it works like this: You set an upper limit for what you want the process to be able to use, the process can then request memory from the system up to that limit, anything it has requested but hasn't used yet or has fallen into disuse is free memory. And yes, 10G of RAM is extremely overkill and unless you are running a 64bit server it won't even be able to use more than 3 - 4G. Make sure you have downloaded and installed Java x64 I currently run a 24/7 Tekkit server on 1.6G with up to 20 players and no world border.
  5. Hmm, Thanks, I don't really need or want to blacklist them... I just want a way I can remove all the ones currently placed. Them users should be free to place them again. The idea is that regular players are able to use the item without issue, but ones which fall into disuse don't slow down the server by loading unneeded chunks.
  6. Hi, First time posting here, so sorry if this is in the wrong place. I would like to know if anyone knows of an easy way to remove a block(id) from the world. The purpose in this case is that I wish to reset all World Anchors, World Anchor Carts, Dimensional Anchors (basically any form of chunk loader) However I have no wish or need to ban them completely. I know you can "reset" World Anchors by deleting the railcraft.dat file inside the world folder but this only seems to stop them loading on server start, whenever someone goes into a chunk where the anchor was placed it gets loaded again. (I can't think of any other way 6 players in survival mode could use 60 world anchors in 10mins, when the normal rate of use is about 20 a week)
  7. Server Name: Becca- RefreshProjects - Tekkit Website:http://www.RefreshProjects.com Server Location: Dallas, Texas, USA Population: 35 slots, 30-40 Regular Players. IP: Becca.RefreshProjects.com Server Rules: We have very few "rules" more expectations: 1) Play Nice - Some people are happy with PvP and others just like being on a server to show off their building skill and enjoy the community, please respect people in both groups. 2) No Griefing 3) Use common sense, courtesy and decency 4) In other words, play nice Mods: No mods have been disabled, however EE has been modified to allow for easier rollbacks of greifed land. Extras: We also have an online shop allowing players to purchase upgrades from plugins such as more slots for the backpack plugin, harder to get in-game items and VIP ranks. Although we may promote the web-shop a lot everything you can buy in the shop you are able to get in-game at no expense other than playtime, the shop is mealy there to help players who do not have the time required to stay competitive. (and help generate a little towards the cost of keeping the server running) How and Why we started: We started off as just a small group of regular players who enjoyed playing together so much we made our own server, after a couple of weeks we found that the play-style was so great that we decided to open it up to the public and let everyone else share in the fun! We are now so successful that we have been able to move it to a paid professional hosting plan to limit downtime and expand our player-base while maintaining a lag free experience! Now we actually run our own hosting service. Selling the same great servers that we use to others! Events: We often engage in fun activities such as DropParties, PVP WarZones/Duels. Who are we looking for: We are looking for more like minded respectful players to come and have fun with us, we welcome players who enjoy playing with other people not against them. We also aim not just to play together in this game, but also many others! Ranks and Restrictions: While we do not take any steps to ban or block items to players we do restrict their usage to players who have been playing long enough to show that they care about our server. This is done through the use of ranks and auto-promotion features provided by "OnTime"
