  1. Incredibly sorry guys, having some issues. Will keep you updated.
  2. Service restores, booting up server as we speak. And yes, I am using a hosting service.
  3. Looks like the host is still having problems. I'll keep you posted, but I can't get into RCP right now.
  4. Give me five minutes, I have a small fix to include in the meantime
  5. My apologies for the downtime. Our host was having some problems. The server is back up.
  6. You could use a control panel, such as multicraft.
  7. Thanks, always nice to know people appreciate the server. In other news, issue where some players spawned outside the spawn building is fixed
  8. Fixed issues some users were having with commands and added in a starter kit
  9. IP: voltzhaven.com **NOTE** This is a raid and greif server. There is no land protection, aside from what is supplied in the basic modpack. Be warned **NOTE** We have upgraded to 1.1.0. Unfortunately, due to item id changes, many items were lost. Please contact me to get them replaced. **NOTE** If you spawn on top of a wooden pyramid, just type /spawn again Five reasons to join VoltzHaven Selective Staff Recruitment of staff is one thing I take VERY seriously. I personally guarantee that all staff are kind and fair to players. Staff are held to a high standard, and one strike is a demotion or ban. Quick Start Are you annoyed by the amount of time it takes to mine before you can build your first machines? Not to mention the time required to journey out to a safe place before you can avoid most raids? I was as well. Thats why we aim to get you started as soon as possible. At spawn, we have [RandomSpawn] signs, which take you to any place within our borders. We also have a generous /kit starter, which gives you basic starter machines. Minimal map resets As a player, I am annoyed when the map is completely destroyed and my hours of work are lost. This problem is even worse in Voltz, as it can take hours before you get started. We have many measures in place to prevent such a situation from happening. Backups are made two-three times a day. Once a day, the backups are uploaded onto google drive, and my personal computer. We will do everything in our power to ensure you keep your hard-earned items. No pay-to-win This server is not run for profit. While we do need donations, and we do offer rewards to encourage people to donate, we aren't in this for the money. All money that we receive goes to the cost of the server, or for other server-related costs. Great community Log into our server, and you will find a tightly-knit group of players. I'm not saying that there isn't any fighting and greifing. However, unlike many other servers, most of our players play for the fun of it. When they get raided, they can start over very easily, oftentimes with help from other members of the community. Staff applications: I hesitate to put this in the thread. I myself turn away from a server whenever I see '[Looking for staff]'. However, we do need staff. First of all, let me be clear on a few things: 1) Being staff is hard. First of all, you don't get to play on the server, in creative or survival. You are still expected to be online 2+ hours a day. 2) We don't play games with ranks. There are two ranks: Moderator and Administrator. Moderators deal with players, Administrators deal with technical issues. End of story. If you want staff, make an application. We don't have forms, you should be able to write freestyle.
  10. Could someone point me to a guide to making an ICBM defense?
  11. Amazing server. Staff has been very helpful so far. A few suggestions: 1) Not sure if you have already done this, but enabling http requests for computer craft would be great. Allows me to use old code I wrote through pastebin. 2) Make it a little easier to find fresh land through main world.
  12. I am looking into getting back into minecraft, and this looks like a good way to do it. However, I was wondering who other mods, mainly redpower, weren't included. Is it worth the trouble of installing mods manually, or would it break anything.
  13. D3matt, get online on skype please. Don't want to derail this into a debate thread . Anyway, my last server got 10 players within an hour with just a decent post on there forums. The best solution would be to rent a server anyway. EDIT: In theory, what about rtoolkit for console access? Looked into it before, my host wouldn't let me install it though.
  14. 1) Thanks for the advice. A quick google search turns up chrome remote desktop, any thoughts about that. 2) Believe me, I know how much work a server takes. I am confident that a team of people can run the server without it becoming too time-consuming
  15. How would you be doing more work then me? I only ask for the amount of time I'm willing to put in. 6 hours a day is plenty for maintaining a server. Also, if I wasn't clear in the first post, I can put in much more time on weekends for initial set-up/big projects.
  16. If/When the server becomes profitable, the profits will be split. However, thats only after there is nothing else to buy for the server, and wont happen for months at the earliest :)
  17. Keep in mind that unless you can get MUCH more bandwidth, we wont be able to home host in. Also, there is no chance of working without FTP link. And, while there may be a lot of intrest, I doubt a lot of these people will pan out. @JeffDonatic. Anyone who I would accept would be experienced with tekkit already. If you aren't willing to give full time help, your out.
  18. Both of you please add me on Skype - pixlepix. By the way, college board offers ap classes to all high school students. Individual schools may not allow you to take it, but my school made an exception.
  19. 1 It wasn't my fault. I moved to a new school and underestimated the workload. I simply had no time and had no other options 2 If 3 players do 2-3 hours a day, that's 6-9 hours, which is more than enough for a properly maintained mid size server
  20. 1 I didn't choose to bail. I simply didn't have enough time. 2 I know, so I am looking to team up with someone
  21. This summer, I started by own server, Cubetown. It lasted for a month, and had 50 players online at a few times. After a month, I had to shut it down due to school starting. However, I would still like to work with a server with 2-3 other experienced people. ABOUT ME: I'm a high-school freshman(Yeah, a little young). I am taking AP Calculus, and am decent at computer programing, so I am pretty intelligent. I can spare 2-3 hours almost all days for the foreseeable future, and much more on weekends. If you are interested in discussing this further, reply here or email me at [email protected] EDIT: For our third team member, we need someone for promotion/community management. Must be able to work with graphics and have good people skills.
  22. On parsonage, which has the best managed economy I've ever seen, I found a way to make a profit. I crafted redpower items and sold them for tons of money. As they are fairly easy to craft in bulk, rich players would pay when they needed some, not wanting to waste their time.
  23. Residence is great, its what I used. When I removed towny, the problem stopped immediately.
  24. Was having an argument with omega about LV power, and he changed my nickname to motorboat_manboobs. Please tell me he will me banned/unmodded.
